1 STAINMASTER STAIN PROOF * GROUT CLEAR CRYSTAL Translucent two component epoxy for grouting transparent and artistic glass mosaics with joints up to 1/8 inches wide. Patented formula DESCRIPTION Part A consists of a mixture of epoxy resin, inert substances based on glass beads with a fine particle size and components of organic origin. Part B consists of a mixture of amine-based hardeners. Alternatively, it will remain neutral in tone with all Color-Backed glass. Great results can be obtained if the mosaic is applied to transparent substrates such as glass and Plexiglas, possibly backlit by a light source. In this case, the mosaics must be glued using a suitable transparent adhesive in cartridge form. In the case of traditional supports such as cement plasters or plaster of Paris, paneling etc. the mosaics must be bonded depending on the type of support. Clear Crystal makes it possible to achieve glass mosaic surfaces with effects of considerable artistic value and visual impact such as: Creating backlit interior walls. Backlit coatings of bars or public places. Floors and walls in bathrooms, kitchens, showers, etc. Furnishing surfaces such as columns, tables, etc. Another possibility is using Clear Crystal grout for artistic grouting, i.e. Murals made up of mosaic tiles which, when suitably shaped and mixed, reproduce images rich in nuances and shadows. If the grouting of these images is done with traditional colored grouts, the appearance of the figure represented is compromised, because the traditional colored grout creates a discontinuance of color between the mosaic tiles. Conversely, the inherent semi-transparency of Clear Crystal retains the original nuances of the composition, creating neutral, colorless grouting that does not interfere with the image. In essence, it allows the mural and colors to be the lead and remains only complimentary and/or neutral. *Typical residential and household products will not stain grout, however be sure to clean spills immediately.

2 PRELIMINARY CHECKS AND PREPARATION OF JOINTS Make sure that the adhesive used for bonding the mosaic is completely dry and hardened. The joints must be clean, free of dust and empty for the entire thickness of the mosaic to ensure the translucent effect of the product. For bonding, it is advisable to use a trowel with small triangular teeth. In many cases flattening the adhesive before applying the tiles will be the best method to insure desirable results. MIXING RATIO PART A (grout paste): 100 parts by weight PART B (catalyst): 8.3 parts by weight The two parts are pre-dosed in their respective packs. PREPARING THE MIXTURE Cut one corner of the packet containing the catalyst (Part B) located inside the bucket and pour contents onto Part A (grout paste). It is required to pour out the entire contents of the catalyst packet, rolling and squeezing the packet progressively from the sealed side towards the cut side to empty the bag as far as possible. Mix using an electric drill with the paddle at low speed until a smooth mixture is achieved without lumps. Scrape the sides and bottom of the bucket with a suitable trowel to ensure no non-catalyzed product remains. It is not advisable to do the mixing by hand. The packs of the components are pre-dosed. The resulting mixture remains workable for about 1 hour at a temperature of about 75 F. GROUTING THE MOSAIC SURFACE Apply the mixture into the joints, using a suitable green float. Remove any excess product using the same rubber float. The workability and hardening time of the product is greatly influenced by the environmental temperature. The optimum temperature for application is between 65 F and 75 F. Under these conditions, the product appears like a soft, easily workable mortar, with a workability time of approximately 1 hour. It will be possible to walk on it after 24 hours. At a temperature of 55 F, it can take 3 days before the grouted tile can be walked on. The grouted tile is ready to use for wet or dry applications after 5 days at a temperature of 75 F and after 10 days at a temperature of 59 F. At temperatures between 45 F and 55 F, the product proves to be thicker and harder to apply. The hardening time is also greatly lengthened. Do not to add water or solvents to improve the workability. At high temperatures, it is advisable to distribute the product as quickly as possible onto the surface, so as not to further shorten the workability time following the reaction heat present in the pack. CLEANING AND FINISHING Cleaning and finishing the grouting should be done while the product is still fresh, and in all cases as quickly as possible, taking care not to empty the joints and without leaving product marks on the surface of the mosaics. Sprinkle the grouted surface with clean water. Carry out initial cleaning using the white non-scratch felt pad (or equivalent) provided, making circular movements both clockwise and anti-clockwise, to remove any excess grout from the surface. Then clean again using a suitable sponge diagonally across the tiles for a smooth, closed surface, completely removing the product from surface of the mosaic and drying any excess water without emptying the joints. The felt and sponge must be replaced when they are impregnated with resin and can no longer be cleaned. Stains or residues of transparent product can be removed after 24 hours or after grout hardening (the time of hardening depends greatly on the environmental temperature), using STAINMASTER Haze Remover. Read the Haze Remover technical data sheet for correct use. Use of STAINMASTER Haze Remover to remove marks Spray or wipe the Haze Remover on the entire surface to be treated with the white felt pad provided or equivalent, 24 hours after grout application. Let it sit for about minutes. Then scrub with white felt pad or with single-brush machine in large areas. Rinse with water and dry immediately with a clean and dry cloth.

3 Do not allow evaporation of rinse water to avoid the formation of stains on the surface. Avoid breathing dust/fume/gas/mist/vapors/ spray. Wear protective gloves/protective clothing/ eye protection/face protection. If in eyes: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. Take off contaminated clothing. Wash contaminated clothing before reuse. Dispose of contents/ container in accordance with local/regional/national/international regulations. The product can only be applied for grouting transparent or artistic glass mosaics with joints not exceeding 1/8 in. for vertical applications. On horizontal grout, widths can be up to 3/16 to 1/4 in., but wider joints can result in loss of color refraction and the grout will remain a neutral color. Apply the product preferably at temperatures between 65 F and 75 F. Do not apply in conditions of low temperatures or high humidity so as to prevent the formation of surface carbonation which could affect the uniformity of color. Remove any excess product promptly from the surface of the mosaics as, once hardening has taken place, the product would need to be removed mechanically, with serious risks for the final result of the work. Special Caution: Surface of the tile and the area within grout joints must be clean, dry and free of water or other contaminants prior to application of grout. Do not reapply grout after initial clean-up unless surface has been thoroughly dried. Reapplying over wet areas will cause clouding of the grout. Mix the two components (A+B) correctly and completely. Change the water frequently when cleaning felt pad or sponge. Change the felt pad and sponge when saturated with product and can no longer be cleaned. Allow a Minimum of 24 hours, but do not wait more than 72 hours for the final cleaning with STAINMASTER Haze Remover if required. Do not walk on the newly grouted surface, to avoid damaging the flooring and tracking resin residue onto the tile. Do not cover the newly grouted surface with cloths or other material so as to prevent the formation of condensation that would lead to surface carbonation, altering the uniformity of color. Wait at least hours depending on the temperature before protecting the surface. The product cannot be used for grouting tanks containing aggressive substances permitted for intermittent contact only (see chemical resistance chart shown in the technical data sheet). Do not mix the product with water or solvents.
