General Rules for Underground Polyethylene Pipe in Propane Applications: For Outdoor Applications For Below Grade/Underground Applications For LP Gas Vapor Service Maximum Pressure of 30 psig Does Not Require a Dielectric Union Above Grade Ends of Polyethylene Shall be Terminated with an Approved Riser
Flexible & Semi-Rigid Anodeless Risers
40+ years of plastic transitions Sizes 1/2 CTS (.090 wall) through 2 IPS (.216 wall) Flexible & Semi-Rigid options Customizable lengths for both rigid and flexible sections Multiple finish options for corrosion resistance
Features & Benefits The simple design can be installed with one flat jaw wrench extending the life of protective coatings commonly flawed/removed by pipe wrenches. Bi-Directional Seal/Ferrule assembly can t be installed improperly where some competitors multiple internal components MUST have proper order and orientation to function properly. No torque requirements!! All X-Risers incorporate the bottoming or positive stop design. Simply tighten the compression nut until it is metal-tometal and you are done. With the swage collar design there is no need for a weep hole which exposes the PE to both UV rays and water Chicago Fittings products are CNC machined providing a high quality product with the most precise threads and design flexibility
Design Philosophy It s our feeling at Chicago Fittings, that both LP Gas and Natural Gas systems should have as few joints as possible, and joints should be located above ground wherever possible. The X-Riser with an integral service head adapter accomplishes both of these criteria. The use of an X-Riser removes a minimum of two (2) joints per riser when compared to that of a standard pigtail style riser. In addition, those joints, buried below ground are now moved to a single above grade joint and should a leak occur, it would vent to atmosphere rather than migrating below ground in the path of least resistance. The use of this system eliminates the requirement of an underground stab coupling and/or fused joints. In other words, gas is distributed from tank to building with a solid (jointless) underground pipe. Combining this philosophy with the long list of features & benefits of the Sealastic sealing technology makes the X-Riser the most reliable, safest and most cost effective method for tank to building and main to meter systems.
