This item is in a residence facility currently undergoing enhancements. To the degree possible, the aesthetic qualities of each building are being programmed to reflect the feel of the era in which each was constructed. SCOPE: FURNISH AND INSTALL THE FOLLOWING RESIDENCE HALL LVP FLOORING AND CARPET TILES FOR THE UNIVERSITY OF ARIZONA. INSTALLATION WILL INCLUDE FURNITURE MOVING AND FLOORING REMOVAL. IT WILL INCLUDE STUDENT ROOMS, CORRIDORS, AND SOME COMMON AREAS. THE INSTALL IN THE TWO HALLS CAN RUN CONCURRENTLY. THIS PROJECT WILL TAKE PLACE OVER THE SUMMER BREAK. THE DATES FOR THIS PROJECT ARE MAY 14 th, JULY 3 rd. THE INSTALLATION IS TO BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE ATTACHED DETAILED SPECIFICATION, GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS HEREIN AND MANUFACTURERS REQUIREMENTS. SUBMITTALS: A. Manufacturer s Installation Instructions: Indicate special procedures, perimeter conditions, and conditions requiring special attention (*Including any special instruction for furniture that is placed on the flooring) E. Manufacturers cleaning instructions F. Installer must submit a schedule of the work to be done by floor and building. Submittals must be submitted for approval to the Residence Life Project Manager by April 13 th, 2018 QUALIFICATIONS: Manufacturer: Company specializing in manufacturing specified LVP and carpet tile with minimum five years documented experience Installer: Company specializing in installing LVP and carpet tile with minimum five years documented experience approved by manufacturer ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS: LVP, carpet tile and adhesives and other materials shall contain the minimum quantity possible of volatile organic compounds (VOC). Allow materials to outgas for 36 prior to delivery to the site; protect from traffic and soiling. Store materials for 48 hours prior to installation in area of installation to achieve temperature stability. WARRANTY: All materials and furnishings shall be fully guaranteed against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of two (2) years from the date of final acceptance. The installer/vendor agrees to repair or replace defective materials and workmanship over a two-year period. Parking Permit: The installer is responsible for all parking. Parking permit information and costs can be provided by Parking and Transportation at (520) or on their website at G. Removal of all flooring. The installer is responsible for removal from the building. Coordinate approval of roll-off location. H. Furniture moving will be required. Apply all flooring and adhesive in accordance with the manufacturer s instructions to maintain under bed warranty. J. LVP to be installed in a random pattern to avoid seams from lining up. K. Carpet to be installed quarter turned L. Cuts to be true and straight M. Silicone caulking to be used to seal where LVP meets the wall behind the base in any wet areas. N. Silicone caulking to be used around closet enclosure to ensure proper seal. O. Remove all crating and debris from project (includes old carpeting, tile and base). Vendor is responsible for coordinating their own trash removal. The University s roll-offs cannot be utilized. P. Leave premises in Showroom condition, all items free of dust. This will require vacuuming by the vendor to ensure all debris has been removed. Q. Vendor will be responsible for any damages they cause. R. Flooring must be installed using manufacturer s specified adhesive and product and adhesive must be used according to manufacturer s installation instructions. S. Supply any necessary transitions at flooring changes. Rubber transitions to match cove base. T. Cuts to rubber base will be no less than 18 unless the wall itself is less than 18. U. Vendor responsible for all field verification of measurements.
