INTRODUCTION 1. INTRODUCTION GREENZONE is an innovative, patented, closed cell, cross-linked, polyethylene foam containing Bifenthrin. It is suitable for use as any one of the following: GREENZONE Termite Barrier (GTB) GREENZONE Insect Barrier (GIB) GREENZONE Expansion Joint Filler (GEJF) 1.1 GREENZONE - THE SOLUTION GREENZONE is a termite and insect barrier technology which integrates a compressible foam substrate with bifenthrin creating signiicant savings in labour and materials to install a combined termite repellent and compressible foam layer. The core innovation is the integration of a termite repellent into expansion joint foam which can be applied to all elements of construction that require a termite management system. GREENZONE is a polyethylene expansion joint foam containing Bifenthrin to act as a barrier to termites, black ant and cockroaches. Bifenthrin is a pyrethroid insecticide and termiticide, a 4th generation pyrethroid, which is virtually insoluble in water and the longest residual termiticide currently registered on the market. Bifenthrin is a product used worldwide and is common in pesticides and termiticides. The manufacture of GREENZONE utilises an extrusion process. This process combines bifenthrin with a closed cell, cross-linked polyethylene material. Because of the extrusion process, once the GREENZONE product has dried it is very dificult for the bifenthrin to leach out or degrade. Single layer thickness insect barrier. Greenzone Termite and Insect Repellent Barrier must be applied where expansion joint foam is required: construction gap between 2 vertical/ parallel concrete slabs, around pipe penetrations, a gap between the window bricks to prevent subterranean termites, ants and cockroaches from entering around the perimeter of the building. installation of foam for perimeter treatments, see general instructions. NOT TO BE USED FOR ANY PURPOSE, OR IN ANY MANNER, CONTRARY TO THIS LABEL UNLESS AUTHORISED UNDER APPROPRIATE LEGISLATION. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS: Product information: Greenzone Termite and Insect Repellent Barrier is a professional termite management system for new structures and extensions to existing structures. The purpose of Greenzone Termite and Insect Repellent Barrier is to prevent subterranean termites, ants and cockroaches from entering the premise. Greenzone Termite and Insect Repellent Barrier is not designed as a remedial treatment for existing termite damage. Greenzone Termite and Insect Repellent Barrier contains an active ingredient that is dispersed fully throughout the foam Greenzone Termite and Insect Repellent Barrier is to be used for perimeter application in combination with a concrete slab acting as physical termite barrier, and/or in combination with other termite management systems as per AS When used in combination with a concrete slab acting as a physical barrier, the slab must be poured in accordance with AS Residential slabs and footings recommendations. Critical application details: The installing of the critical application Greenzone Termite and Insect Repellent Barrier must be in accordance with Australian Standard AS recommendations. Pre-Installation: Prior to installing Greenzone Termite and Insect Repellent Barrier, it is recommended that a site inspection is performed and the following precautions are carried out. Elimination of any active nest of economically important wood feeding species of subterranean termite (as per AS3660.1) found within the property boundary up to a distance of 50m from the proposed new building work. All tree stumps, logs, and roots, shall be excavated and removed from the building area where the Greenzone Termite and Insect Repellent Barrier is to be installed. All structural material below the ground should be made from termite resistant material such as masonry, concrete, steel etc. Joining foam: In almost all situations Greenzone Termite and Insect Repellent Barrier is held in place by construction materials as the structure is built. In such cases adhesives or bonding agents used to join foam are required until these construction components are installed. In situations where construction materials do not exert pressure on foam piece overlaps such as perimeter cavities, a permanent bond must be created. Such a bond can be made by applying T manufacturer to provide a construction grade impervious bond between the two joining foam, allowing the system to meet Australian Standard 3660 Termite Management with respect to providing a barrier to subterranean termites. If unsure of the suitability of the adhesive to be used contact the adhesive manufacturer for technical support. To create a suitable join, take two pieces of Greenzone Termite and Insect Repellent Barrier foam and place them end one continuous piece of foam with a silicon join. There should be no overlapping of the Greenzone Termite and Insect Repellent Barrier foam. Repairing tears or gaps: The repair foam is to be bonded onto the tear/gap as detailed above in Joining Foam. Secure the foam strip to the outer edge of the brickwork and fold the foam over the top of the brickwork securing it to the internal brickwork towards the footings. Ensure that prior to the slab being poured that the foam is securely held in place using an appropriate adhesive or bonding agent designed by the manufacturer to provide a construction grade bond between the Greenzone Termite and Insect Repellent Barrier foam and the material it is being bonded to. If a separate damp proof course material is being used it should be installed above the Greenzone Termite and Insect Repellent Barrier level. Restraints: DO NOT use for remedial treatment of pre-existing termite damage. er the gap. Corners: ermite and Insect Repellent Barrier is continuous. To create a corner joint, cut two pieces of Greenzone Termite and Insect Repellent Barrier foam, and remove the protective paper on each piece to reveal the adhesive sides. Place the two pieces to form a 90-degree Perimeter paving & tilt panels: ermite and Insect Repellent Barrier is applied in between concrete and brick work or concrete panel or cladding. SERVICE PENETRATIONS Vertical penetrations: When installing Greenzone Termite and Insect Repellent Barrier as a perimeter application, service penetrations must be protected. To construct a Greenzone Termite and Insect Repellent Barrier penetration collar each penetration requires an appropriate amount of Greenzone Termite and Insect Repellent Barrier to be wrapped around the pipe penetration using the adhesive back. When working with a 100mm thick concrete slab, ensure that you cut an 800mm piece of Greenzone Termite and Insect Repellent Barrier expansion foam. For every 100mm of concrete, the amount of Greenzone Termite and Insect Repellent Barrier used must SAFETY DATA SHEET (SDS): Additional information is listed in the Safety Data Sheet. increase by an additional 800mm (eg. A 200mm concrete slab requires a 1600mm length of Greenzone Termite and Insect Repellent Barrier expansion foam, wrapped around the pipe penetrations.) With each wrap, there must be a 20mm overlap of foam. sticky surface exposed, wrap the Greenzone Termite and Insect Repellent Barrier around the pipe penetration, ensuring a 20mm overlap to ensure there are no gaps. Reinforcing mesh should be cut clear of the penetration pipe to allow the Greenzone Termite and Insect Repellent Barrier to be correctly positioned. Expansion joint foam is not required to be installed so long as Greenzone Termite and Insect Repellent Barrier is covering the pipe penetration where concrete is poured. Multiple penetrations: Clusters of penetrations in close proximity are termed multiple penetrations or cluster penetrations. Treat each penetration separately ensuring that they are each wrapped individually with Greenzone Termite and Insect Repellent Barrier in the same manner as instructed above. Ensure the Greenzone Termite and Insect Repellent Barrier foam has a 20mm overlap between each of the penetrations. Ensure a double layer of Greenzone Termite and Insect Repellent Barrier foam, as described in the vertical penetration directions above, protects each penetration. Service requirements: Greenzone Termite and Insect Repellent Barrier contains an insecticide, which will both kill and repel termites that come into contact with it. The objective of Greenzone Termite and Insect Repellent Barrier is to prevent concealed access from subterranean termites. Termites can still crawl around the barrier, but if this occurs, a visual mud trail (often referred to as a tunnel or lead) will be evident and regular inspections will identify this. *Australian trials to date indicate that a correctly installed Greenzone Termite and Insect Repellent Barrier will prevent concealed termite entry by subterranean termites for at least two years. Regular competent inspection is recommended as part of an ongoing termite management program. Service requirements are to be determined as a result of at least an annual inspection by a licensed Pest Control Operator. More frequent inspections may be required in high-risk termite areas. In determining the need for service, factors such as local termite pressure, breaches of the barrier and termiticide longevity should be considered. Subterranean termites are on occasions capable of bridging termite barriers and therefore regular inspections, as detailed damage or costly repairs are required. Insecticide Resistance Warning: GROUP 3A FUNGICIDE For insecticide resistance management Greenzone Termite and Insect Repellent Barrier is a Group 3A insecticide. Some naturally occurring insect biotypes resistant to Greenzone Termite and Insect Repellent Barrier and other Group 3A insecticides may exist through normal genetic variability in any insect population. The resistant individuals can eventually dominate the insect population if Greenzone Termite and Insect Repellent Barrier or other Group 3A Green Zone Pty. 19 6.7 INSTALLATION AROUND SINGLE SERVICE PENETRATIONS IN A WAFFLE POD CONCRETE SLAB AFTER CONCRETER HAS SETUP FORMWORK, PLACED THE WAFFLE PODS AND REINFORCEMENT MESH 50mm ATTENTIO GREENZONE Termite & Inse as part of a Termite Manage GREENZONE barrier foam DAMAGE OR REMOVE this contact the accredited G 50mm SERVICE PENETRATIONS FIGURE 6.7 A Step One 1. Starting from the bottom of the service penetration, apply GREENZONE to the base (i.e. where the service penetrates the wafle pod): a. peel off the protective coating to the selfadhesive backing and place a section of the GREENZONE foam on the pipe, making sure the 10mm zip strip is facing up, b. then wrap horizontally once in a circular motion to ensure GREENZONE fully covers the external perimeter of the pipe and is irmly pressed against the moisture barrier, c. then continue to wrap the pipe in a circular motion angled upwards at approximately 22 degrees (see igure 6.7 A) ensuring that the GREENZONE has a minimum lap of 20mm and continue until GREENZONE wrap exceeds the height of the concrete loor by a minimum of 100mm, 2. Cut the GREENZONE neatly with a sharp knife or scissors and press the GREENZONE to ensure complete adhesion to the pipe. 3. One the GREENZONE foam has been securely attached to the penetration, use the paper backing removed from the adhesive side of the GREENZONE to wrap the top section of the penetration, using a clear tape to secure it to the penetration. (See Figure 6.7A) Refer to section 9.2 for more details. 4. NOTE: A minimum gap of 50mm is required from the edge of the GREENZONE to any reinforcement mesh or bar chairs. (See igures 6.7 A). Refer also to wafle pod supplier installation information and or seek engineering advice. d. as the GREENZONE is applied to the pipe ensure that there are no kinks, rips, tears or defects in the material (if any of these are found in the material please refer to section 8.4 on repairs etc.) also apply suficient pressure to ensure that the GREENZONE is securely stuck to the pipe and that there are no air bubbles or voids between the pipe and the GREENZONE. 19

SERVICE PENETRATIONS 6.8 INSTALLATION AROUND SINGLE SERVICE PENETRATION IN CONCRETE SLAB CAST IN DRAINAGE PITS When using GREENZONE around other penetrations in concrete slab construction, the following is an example of how a penetration in a concrete slab (requiring termite and or insect barrier protection) may be addressed for expansion and contraction. 1. Using the appropriate tool(s), clean the surface to which the GREENZONE will be adhered so that it is smooth, is free of dirt, concrete, adhesives, grease, oil and the like, is dry and is free of any other defect (e.g. split, break, puncture or divot), 2. Measure the outside perimeter of the drainage pit and using a sharp knife cut the GREENZONE to the length required. NOTE: GREENZONE cannot be applied in a continuous strip around internal and external corners - GREENZONE must be cut and neatly joined on the external corners (See igure 6.8 B) FIGURE 6.8 A FIGURE 6.8 B Document Version: V3-October-2017, Copyright 2017 Green Zone Pty Ltd. 20

SERVICE PENETRATIONS FIGURE 6.8 C FIGURE 6.8 D 21

EXPANSION JOINTS 7. TREATMENT OF EXPANSION / CONTRACTION JOINTS GREENZONE can be installed in expansion joints. GREENZONE acts as a physical termite barrier and provides a control for the contraction and expansion of masonry elements. 7.1 TYPICAL USES GREENZONE is suitable for use in these expansion joint applications: Non-continuous concrete slabs, Concrete Inill slabs, Precast to footing to paving details, FIGURE 7.1 A FIGURE 7.1 B Garage with double brick wall on boundary FIGURE 7.1 C Document Version: V3-October-2017, Copyright 2017 Green Zone Pty Ltd. 22

7.2 GENERAL PREPARATION Before commencing work on site a general site inspection should be undertaken to determine if the site contains any signs of termites. If termites are located on the site, the installer needs to take the necessary steps to remove the termites and their nest prior to commencing work. Ensure the surface (i.e. surface to which GREENZONE will be applied) of the ixed element of the expansion joint is clean and free of dirt, grease, oil and release residues etc. The installation of GREENZONE Termite Barrier is made easy due to the sticky back (self-adhesive) backing. This product will stick to most surfaces, e.g. concrete, brick, timber, metal and PVC. 7.3 WORK AREA PREPARATION Ensure edge to concrete slab is clean, free from imperfections, defects, and is lat to ensure an adequate adhesion of GREENZONE to the concrete slab edge. Remove any bumps with the appropriate tool(s) and ill any divots/crevices/voids with an approved termiticide sealant / iller (See section 8.3 for approved sealants) and let dry. Once dry, application of GREENZONE can commence. 7.4 CONCRETE SLAB 1. Starting from the left-hand end and working towards the right-hand end: a. peel off a small section of the protective coating to the self-adhesive backing, b. working from left to right place the GREENZONE on the concrete slab edge, applying suficient pressure to adhere to the concrete slab ensuring there are no gaps, kinks or air pockets between the GREENZONE and the concrete edge, c. at the same time, making sure that the top edge of the GREENZONE is lush with the concrete slab this will allow for consistency when removing the 10mm zip strip prior to sealing of joint, d. moving across from left to right apply the GREENZONE to the concrete slab edge maintaining suficient pressure to adhere the GREENZONE to the concrete slab edge, e. on reaching the required end point - with a sharp knife or scissors, cut the GREENZONE to the required length and push into position ensuring no gaps are present, f. if required, seal any small gap with an approved termiticide sealant such as Termilex, g. NOTE: for long continuous joints, where multiple rolls are required, GREENZONE must be joined appropriately (See section 8 for details on joins). EXPANSION JOINTS FIGURE 7.4 A 23

CONCRETE PRECAST PANELS 7.5 CONCRETE PRECAST PANELS / INFILL SLAB 1. Starting from the left-hand end and working towards the right-hand end: a. determine the height of the inished concrete slab and mark a line on the concrete tilt panel, b. all recessed panel joints and external corners are required to be illed prior to applying GREENZONE - recessed panel joints and external corners are shown in blue in Figures 7.5 A, 7.5 C and 7.5 D, c. peel off a small section of the protective coating to the self-adhesive backing, FIGURE 7.5 A d. working from left to right, place the GREENZONE on the concrete tilt panel to the marked line (inished height of the concrete), applying suficient pressure to adhere to the surface ensuring there are no gaps, kinks or air pockets between the GREENZONE and the concrete panel, FIGURE 7.5 B e. making sure that the top edge of the GREENZONE is lush with the inished concrete slab height this will allow for consistency when removing the 10mm zip strip prior to applying approved sealant to the joint, f. moving across from left to right apply the GREENZONE to the concrete panel surface maintaining suficient pressure to adhere the GREENZONE to the concrete, g. on reaching the required end point - with a sharp knife or scissors, cut the GREENZONE to the required length and push into position ensuring no gaps are present, h. NOTE: for long continuous joints, where multiple rolls are required, GREENZONE must be joined appropriately (See section 8 for details on joins). FIGURE 7.5 C FIGURE 7.5 D Document Version: V3-October-2017, Copyright 2017 Green Zone Pty Ltd. 24

8. TREATMENT OF JOINTS AND JOINS 8.1 EXTERNAL AND INTERNAL CORNERS GREENZONE cannot be applied as a continuous element around internal or external corners it must be cut at each corner (See igures 8.1 A and 8.1 B) with a sharp knife or scissors making sure that the end of the GREENZONE is securely attached and that the piece which overlaps the internal or external corner its neatly and that no gaps or voids are present, and illed with appropriate sealant. TREATMENT OF JOINTS AND JOINS FIGURE 8.1 A FIGURE 8.1 B 8.2 End-to-end joints (Butt joins) Simply cut GREENZONE, with a sharp knife or scissors, to form a straight edge which is cut at 90 degrees to the face then attach one piece of the GREENZONE to the applicable surface and then place the next piece of GREENZONE in tightly with the piece secured to the surface. Fill any gaps with appropriate sealant. FIGURE
