2 CONTENTS INTRODUCTION TAPES 7-9 Aluminium foil tapes are used to complete the vapour barrier on foil-faced pipe and slab sections, to protect against the effects of fire, moisture and dust to maintain the insulation s efficiency. COATINGS Piping and ducting insulation requires protection from physical and environmental conditions, including acids, alkalis, weather and mechanical abuse. A range of durable coatings to protect against these hazards is available, along with products for asbestos removal or encapsulation. ADHESIVES High performance adhesives for the direct bonding of all types of insulation to a wide variety of surfaces. Some adhesives also have fire resistance, making them suitable for fire protection systems. SEALANTS Specialist duct sealants which provide tough, resilient, air-tight seals for ductwork are available, alongside general purpose sealants. GRAB ADHESIVES The market leading Gripfill grab adhesives and Gripfill Max adhesive and sealant complement the range. FIRE PROTECTION Bostik s fire protection products are specially formulated for the control of smoke and fire in public buildings, offices, factories and warehouses. The range includes fire rated sealants, coatings and mortar. 13 GRAB ADHESIVES GRAB ADHESIVES The range includes the market leading Gripfill grab adhesive, which has been developed to bond virtually any rigid materials together, regardless of the evenness of the surface. GRIPFILL Gripfill is the market leading grab adhesive. It gives excellent adhesion and bonds virtually any rigid materials together, regardless of the evenness of the surface, as gap filling properties mean uneven surfaces can be bonded without difficulty. Gripfill is a high strength, one part gap filling adhesive. 14 FIRE PROTECTION FIRE PROTECTION The comprehensive range of fire protection products has been carefully developed to control the passage of smoke and fire in public building, offices, shops and warehouses. They have been extensively tested to ensure they meet recognised fire standards. FIRESEAL A superior fire resistant silicone joint sealant which resists the passage of fire for up to four hours. It has excellent adhesion to a wide range of substrates including masonry. It will not slump from joints up to 25mm wide. Assessed to BS 476: Part 20: 1987 to give up to 4 hours fire resistance Excellent cold smoke seal Internal and external use C20 cartridges (12 per carton) White and grey INTUCRYLIC A high quality water-borne acrylic intumescent building sealant, which cures to form a tough, tack-free seal with excellent adhesion to a wide variety of building surfaces. In the event of a fire, the sealant will swell (intumesce) to form an insulating char, which is fire resistant and will resist the passage of smoke and flame. It is suitable for filling joints, voids and irregular holes in fire walls, partitions and other structures. It has been formulated to give sound reduction properties when sealing and bonding plasterboard and other insulation boards. 15 FIRE PROTECTION HANGERS INTUSTRIP A soft adhesive pre-formed strip sealant developed for use as a compression seal in fire sensitive situations. When subjected to heat or fire, it will swell (intumesce) to form a char which will resist the passage of smoke and flames.
