Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification Global Alliance (not-for-profit association) of 40 national forest certification organizations and 22 international stakeholder members World's leading forest certification system, offering the largest choice of sustainably-sourced timber and wood-based products PEFC specifically considers the unique needs of small and family forest owners while being equally used by large landowners as well. PEFC is required or recommended by public and private procurement policies around the world 4 The PEFC label is only available on certified products, giving responsible companies the right to use a trusted label

15 PEFC National Members PEFC s conditions for National Governing Body membership require that the national candidate organization shall: a) be a legal entity; b) have its own statutes not conflicting the PEFC Council Statutes; c) include amongst its objectives the implementation of the PEFC scheme within its country; d) have made a commitment to follow the PEFC Council rules and requirements; e) have support of national forest owner s or national forestry organisation; f) provide interested parties with a fair, ongoing and appropriate possibility to influence the organisation s decision making. 15
