Council Resolution C(62)61(Final) of 22 nd May 1962 provides that the external audit of the accounts and of the financial transactions of the Organisation shall be carried out by a Board of four Auditors appointed by the Council, one of whom must be nominated by France, as the Organisation s host country. The Auditors serve for four years, except for the French Auditor, who is appointed for an indefinite period of office. 2. The French member of the Board, Mr. Jacques Berthe, who was also Chairman of the Board, was appointed in 1985 for an indefinite period [C(85)42/Final]. 3. Mr. Berthe has asked that his mandate be terminated as of 31 December 2001, and the Secretary- General has been informed that the French government has nominated to succeed him Mr. Patrick Mordacq, Conseiller maître à la Cour des comptes, whose curriculum vitae is attached as Annex I to this Note. 4. The Secretary-General therefore invites the Council to adopt the following draft conclusion: THE COUNCIL adopted the draft Resolution set out in Annex II to document C(2001)316 appointing Mr. Patrick Mordacq as an Auditor of the Organisation for an indefinite period as from 1 st January

5 ANNEX II DRAFT RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL APPOINTING AN AUDITOR OF THE ORGANISATION THE COUNCIL, Having regard to Article 20 of the Convention on the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development of the 14 th December 1960; thereof; Having regard to the Financial Regulations of the Organisation and, in particular, to Article 32 Having regard to the Resolution of the Council of 22 nd May 1962 concerning the appointment and terms of reference of the Auditors of the Organisation [C(62)61(Final)]; Having regard to the Resolution of the Council of 30 th April 1985 appointing Mr. Jacques Berthe as an Auditor of the Organisation [C(85)42(Final)]; DECIDES: 1. The mandate of Mr. Jacques Berthe (France) as Auditor of the Organisation ends as from 31 st December Mr. Patrick Mordacq (France) is appointed as an Auditor of the Organisation for an indefinite period as from 1 st January 2002, to succeed Mr. Jacques Berthe. 5
