3 NATURAL AREA MANAGEMENT AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONSULTING SERVICES 1 SCOPE OF SERVICES The Scope of the WALGA Preferred Supply will deliver environmental and natural area management services in the following category areas: Environmental consulting Water management Coastal morphology, foreshore protection and erosion control Wetland restoration Ecological studies, including flora, vegetation, fauna, habitat assessment and monitoring Fire risk management Feral and pest animal control Carbon Offset services Contaminated Site Audit and Remediation Management Hazardous Materials Management Services Waste Management Consulting and Audit Services Prepared for the Western Australian Local Government Association by Nam Natura Consulting 2

4 2 SERVICE SPECIFICATIONS AND COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS Where qualifications are represented within the Service Specifications, at least one Consultant within the company responding must hold and maintain such qualifications and relevant accreditations applicable at the individual level. The scope of services below indicates the core areas of supply and intended focus of the WALGA Preferred Supply. Local Governments may seek these services and other related services to the category areas through their purchasing. The types of services and minimum standards of competency and compliance applied to the contract categories are specified within this document and will be an obligation of the WALGA Preferred Supplier Contract. 24 2.12 EXCLUSIONS The scope of this contract is for the provision of consultancy services only. The provision of works and environmental engineering are beyond the scope of the Preferred Supply. However project management activity and other technical services relating to consultancy (for example; commissioned oversight of provision of services) is within scope. WALGA operates an Engineering Consultancy Services Preferred Supply (C001-13). Elements of supply that directly relate to Environmental Engineering (i.e. where services are core to the supply of technical engineering consultancy) will be provisioned within the scope of Engineering Consulting Preferred Supply Contract. These services sit beyond the scope of this Tender. WALGA operates a Household Hazardous Waste Disposal (C005_11)Preferred Supplier Contract. This initiative is funded by the Waste Authority through the Waste Avoidance and Resource Recovery Levy Services, and delivers waste transport and disposal/reuse/recycling services. Activity associated with the Household Hazardous Waste Disposal Contract is beyond the scope of this Tender. WALGA is developing a future Parks and Gardens Preferred Supply that is intended to provide for goods, services and works in the following category areas: Arborists, Tree Services Bush Regeneration Caravan Park Services & Maintenance Cemetery Services & Plaques Flowers, Plants, Trees & Seeds (Greenlife) Irrigation & Watering Systems Landscape Design & Architecture Services Landscaping Services & Supplies Materials Handling, Sheds & Storage Equipment Mowing & Slashing Services Pest Control Compost, Soils, Mulch & Bark Turf Supply & Lay Ablution and toilet supplies Tree pruning & Stump Grinding These supplies extend beyond the scope of consultancy and are intended to deliver works and services and the supply of goods.
