TechnoSoil IMPROVEMENT AND STABILIZATION OF PRESENT SOILS FOR EACH KIND OF EARTHWORK AND ROAD CONSTRUCTION before after Road before treatment with TECHNOSOIL Country road with TECHNOSOIL base course
BUILD ROADS, RAILWAY TRACKS AND INDUSTRIAL AREAS FASTER - no setting process as cement or lime stabilization - no waiting time, drivable immediately - application of the top layer just after finishing the TechnoSoil base course BETTER - treatment with TechnoSoil makes the soil frost proof - resistance to water erosion - improvement of the bearing capacity with TechnoSoil - longer life cycle of the road with TechnoSoil LESS EXPENSIVE - exchange of in situ soil is not necessary - - saving of transport / disposal of low-quality soil - reduction of the construction time, up to m² per day!
Soil stabilization and improvement with TechnoSoil 1. Product Application: Stabilization and sealment of present soil Soil stabilization means to make in situ soil usable for its application. TechnoSoil is mainly used for the stabilization of present soils for each kind of earthwork and road construction. Generally it is possible to improve each kind of soil on condition that the soil can be mixed mechanically. TechnoSoil consists of two components: TechnoSoil L in liquid form and TechnoSoil D in powder form. 2. Effect The stabilization of the soil with TechnoSoil is effected by the use of the two components TechnoSoil L and TechnoSoil D. If you consider soil you will find cavities filled up with air and water. Thers is also an adhesive water film surounding every single fine part of the soil. By the active substances of TechnoSoil L the adhesive water film will be breaked up whereby the soil-owned binding power becomes permanently effective (increase of the cohesion). Thus TechnoSoil L leads to an irreversible agglomeration of the fine parts of the soil and consequently to a reduction of the active soil surface. TechnoSoil D uses cement and hydraulic lime as carrier mediums. The active substances of TechnoSoil D reduce the water absorption of the soil. Due to the swelling behavior of the active substances the surface water isn t able to get into the capillary of the treated soil and reduces the water absorption additionally Due to the effect of the both TechnoSoil components the fine parts of the soil could get closer together after compacting - a consolidation of the soil took place and leads to a higher bearing capacity. SymTec GmbH
3. Processing Generally the well-known and approved procedures mixed-in-place and mixed-in-plant are possible. According to the builindg site (location, material, logistics, etc.) it will be decided which procedure is more effective or more economic. Mixed in plant Mixed in place The soil is mixed with TechnoSoil D and TechnoSoil L in an extern plant pre-mixed material will be delivered to the construction site and applicated compacting with roller wearing course (e.g. asphalt) Adding missing fractions of clay or silt if necessary apply TechnoSoil D apply TechnoSoil L mill up and mix the components with soil compacting with roller wearing course (e.g. asphalt) The components TechnoSoil D and L were added to the in situ soil and mixed until a homogen and crumbly structure of the fine parts of the soil is reached. After the process of the mixing the treated soil must be compacted and levelled with a grader to the proper layer thickness. 4. Equipment needed for mixed in place The better the mixing, the less additives are needed. We recommend the following machinery equipment for the application of TechnoSoil : - vacuum tank trailer with sprinkler for TechnoSoil L - stray equipment with a dosing device for TechnoSoil D - suitable mixing equipment (e.g. soil mixer, attached to a heavy tractor) - compacting equipment (tire roller or vibrating compactor with single or tandem drums) - grader tractor-towed stabilizer recycler with integrated spreading device The Wirtgen or Stehr soil mixer, attached to a heavy tractor, can give excellent performance and will be the most economical solution. Self-propelled soil mixers like the Wirtgen recycler WR 2500 SK have an integrated spreading device. The productivity of such a self-propelled recycler is up to m² per day. SymTec GmbH
5. Suitability of TechnoSoil for different kind of soils Generally it is possible to improve all kinds of soil (cohesive or semi-cohesive) by the treatment with TechnoSoil. The treatment and the intensity of the stabilization depends on the requirements at the building site. The most suitable soil for the application of TechnoSoil should have a percantage of the fine parts (< 0,063 mm) of at least 12 %. If the percentages of fine parts are lower the missing fractions must be added. 6. Properties By the treatment with TechnoSoil the following parameters of the in situ soil will be changed: - improvement of the bearing capacity by 3 to 5 times - increase of the density of the soil - reduction of the water absorption of the soil - improvement of the kf-value - reduction of the shrinking and swelling behavoir - reduction of the frost sensibility of the soil - resistance to water erosion and reduction of the wash out from the fine parts - agglomeration of the fine parts of the soil 7. Technical and economical advantages of TechnoSoil - exchange of in situ soil is not necessary - saving of transport / disposal of low-quality soil - saving of costs for new compactable earth material - saving of shipment costs for new earth material - low-quality soil becomes a predictable building material - treatment with TechnoSoil makes the soil frost proof - no setting process and therefore no waiting time - reduction of the construction time and therefore reduction of the construction costs 8. Environmental influence The active substances of TechnoSoil are compatible to the environment. Through the consolidation of the earth material effected by TechnoSoil results a permanent bond of the additives with the treated soil parts. A wash out of the active substances doesn t take place.
