2 Information Master of Science Electrical Power Engineering Name: Svein Thore Hagen Title: Professor Unit: Department of Electrical Engineering, IT and Cybernetics
3 Introduction Electrical Engineering programs at USN TNM Electrical power engineering concerns the production, transportation, distribution and consumption of electric energy. The study programme emphasizes the social optimization of electric energy. Sustainable energy use in the future requires greater focus on electricity as energy carrier. Our master program is anchored in hydro power, which is the most effective form of renewable energy. Hydro power is also easy to regulate, which means that the social value of hydro power is higher than that of many other power sources. Information Master of Science Electrical Power Engineering 3
