8 Gasholders in dry and water basin design serve for the economical intermediate storage of gas ahead of consumers. Eisenbau Heilbronn is specialised in manufacturing of low-pressure gasometers and has comprehensive experience and know-how in the production and assembly of presently approximately gasometers of all sizes. Nowadays the majority of our gasometers is for dry gas and operates with a diaphragm seal. This design has almost entirely replaced the previously customary water basin design. Our dry-gasholders offer the following benefits: The water basin is eliminated because no sealing liquid is required. The sealing effect is obtained through a flexible sealing diaphragm This further eliminates the necessity of heating the water basin during winter time Low gasometer weight. 10 Desulphurization plants serve primarily the removal of sulphur (H 2 S) from biogas. The use of biogas to produce thermic energy can result in environmental pollution and serious corrossion problems in pipesystems, heaters and gasmotors. The H 2 S impregnated gas is passed through a tower formed desulphurization reactor containing specially formed gascleaning mass (medium) in pellet form. A chemical reaction starts between the sulphur in the gas and the cleaning medium containing ironoxide. The interaction results in the chemical absorption of sulphur into the cleaning medium, ironoxide becomes ironsulphide. The controlled addition of compressed air into the crudegas causes a constant regeneration of the cleaning medium as elementary sulphur forms.
