Accelerated solvent extraction employs a combination of increased temperature and pressure with common solvents to increase the efficiency of the extraction process. The result? Faster extraction times and a significant reduction in solvent use. After cells are filled with sample and loaded, ASE performs the following steps automatically: 1. Fills cell with solvent (organic or aqueous) 2. Heats and pressurizes the extraction cell 3. Holds sample at set pressure and temperature 4. Pumps clean solvent through sample 5. 4 ASE Meets Your Application Requirements Environmental For environmental applications, ASE has been compared extensively to existing techniques and found to produce data equivalent to or better than traditional methods. 7 Automation Tools to Speed and Simplify Extractions ASE Solvent Controller The ASE Solvent Controller provides convenience and flexibility to method development and routine operation. For ASE 200 and ASE 300 the solvent controller is an ideal system addition both for users developing new methods and for those who must run many different types of analysis on a routine basis. Allows unattended, automatic switching between solvent systems. Solvent is delivered from one to four reservoirs with mixing from 5% to 95% of total volume. Reduces operator exposure to solvent by eliminating frequent solvent bottle changes between different sample types. Solvent caddy holds up to four 1-L or 2-L solvent bottles, and its reservoir contains and directs spills to waste. The ASE Solvent Controller is directly programmable from the ASE 200 or ASE 300. Multiple extractions can be performed using any combination of solvent sources. Alternate solvents can be used for rinsing the system. The AutoASE Main Screen displays current operating information, such as cell size, total solvent volume, solvents used, and actual temperatures and pressures. The schematic shows the operator what steps the ASE is performing. For example, solvent lines light up and an oven radiates when in use. AutoASE Computer Control Software for Greater Versatility and Power AutoASE is the control and reporting application software for ASE systems.
