3 What do we mean by Green Procurement? Showing preference for purchasing products that are: Made with Recycled Content Bio-based Environmentally Preferable Energy Efficient Alternative Fuel Vehicles Lacking in Ozone-Depleting Substances (ODS)

4 GSA Helps You Go Green Federal agencies can access green products and services at GSA. Buying green is good for the environment and good for business. GSA supports Executive Order GSA wants to help agencies become environmentally efficient.

5 Why Go Green? Executive Order January 24, 2007 E.O , Strengthening Federal Environmental, Energy, and Transportation Management, 1/24/07 The head of each agency shall require in agency acquisitions of goods and services, (i) use of sustainable environmental practices, including acquisition of bio-based, environmentally preferable, energy-efficient, water-efficient, and recycled content products, and (ii) use of paper of at least 50% post consumer fiber content.
