2 EN RLMM BIG DATA GROUP The Big Data working group in the EN RLMM, was established in Milan in 2015 and is responsible for observing the continuous developments and for informing the Members of the Network regularly about the advancements in this area. The Big Data Working Group involves experts from different countries, taking into account that very different trajectories can be observed in different European countries. The experts represent pivotal organisations, which are either relevant as data providers for regional labour market monitoring or carry out research on the methodological, legal, ethical aspects arising from the utilisation of and dealing with Big Data. 2
3 TOPICS DECISION SUPPORT: Experts research about the stakeholders, the user groups, the strategy development, as well as the appropriate communication formats and interfaces. Decision Support TECHNIQUES: Experts focus on the technical activity, data extraction, automated tools, methodologies, quality assessment, ITinfrastructure, data analysis, accessibility, etc. Techniques Social aspects Legal aspects SOCIAL ASPECTS: Experts research about the impact on the real life of people, the ethical issues, the consequences of big data, the influences in people. LEGAL ASPECTS: Experts focus on the data ownership and use, legal framework, standards and criteria. 3

12 SUGGESTIONS Network Projects looking at local and regional use of realtime data and perhaps a new course for observatory staff to explore new skillsets for people to work in this area. Non EU countries should be allowed to be members of the EN RLMM Morocco: Foreign experts on big data will be welcome to improve our big data analysis in the observatory of labor market. Split big data by particular categories, instruments and purpose. What do you think about these suggestions? Organize Workshops or issue manuals introducing non-it experts into big data analysis Need of an easier way to share knowledge with other countries (without travelling). Can we implement them?
