Tripartite Alliance for Dispute Management Our Services
Supported by You may also download this Guide from our website. All information stated in this Guide is correct as of March
Approach us if you need help with an employment dispute We provide the following: Advisory Services Page 4 (for employees) Mediation Services Page 6 About us The Tripartite Alliance for Dispute Management (TADM) is established by the Ministry of Manpower (MOM), National Trades Union Congress (NTUC), and Singapore National Employers Federation (SNEF) to help employees and employers manage their employment disputes. 3
Advisory Services (for employees) We will provide advice and options to help you manage the dispute If your dispute is salary-related, the fastest method is to file a salary claim for mediation (refer to page 7). Otherwise, make an appointment with us so we can help you. When faced with an employment dispute, discuss it amicably with your employer first. Many disputes can be resolved by communicating and working together to reach an agreement. 4
How do I make an appointment to see an advisor? STEP 1 Book an appointment online at: tadm.sg STEP 2 Choose your preferred date and time. A confirmation will be sent to you via or SMS. STEP 3 A reminder will be sent to you two days before the appointment.* How do I prepare for an advisory session? To help us understand your situation, please bring along any relevant information and supporting documents, such as your employment contract or key employment terms, termination letter, and payslips. * Please be punctual for your appointment. If you are late, you may have to wait longer as those who arrive on time will be served first. If you need to change your appointment, do so at least one day before via our website. 5
Mediation Services Mediation helps resolve employment disputes. Our professional mediators will assist parties in exploring options to arrive at fair and amicable outcomes. What kind of disputes can be mediated? We will mediate salary-related claims where there is a breach of contractual agreement or employment laws. Mediation for such claims is compulsory before they can be heard by the Employment Claims Tribunals. For other types of employment disputes, we will advise if mediation is suitable. Make an appointment to see us (refer to page 5). More than 9 in 10 salary claims are resolved through mediation. 6
For salary-related claims Submit your mediation request online. You will need to have details of the claims including the claim amount. We will schedule a mediation session thereafter. Registration fees: $10 if you are claiming $10,000 or less $20 if your claim exceeds $10,000 If you are a union member, please approach your union or NTUC to file your claim. 7
Mediation Services Both the employee and the employer must be present in order for mediation to proceed. Do make time to attend. 8
Keep an open mind to consider options available. This will help resolve the dispute amicably. What do I have to bring for mediation? Identification documents (e.g. NRIC, work pass card) Employment contract or key employment terms Relevant documents to support the claim or dispute, e.g. salary payment records, termination letter, or letter exchanges related to the claim or dispute Note: For employers: If you appoint an employee to represent you, he/she will need to bring an authorisation letter. An individual who is below 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. 9
