HR Manager: Good afternoon Mr. Santos, please have seat. Mr. Santos: Thank you Sir. HR Manager: The reason why I called you is because I want to discuss the results of your recent performance evaluation. Mr. Santos: I see. Is there something wrong, Sir? HR Manager: Honestly, there are good and bad things that I need to discuss with you. First, I want you to know that we appreciate your efforts to improve your performance these past few months. Mr. Santos: It has always been an honor for me to be a part of this big company. HR Manager: Our management team considers you as one of our best employees. Hence, our recommendation is to enable you to undergo a managerial training to enhance your leadership skills. Mr. Santos: Does that mean I am being considered for a managerial position? HR Manager: Yes, we will be promoting you as an assistant operations manager at the soonest possible time. However, we are bothered with your frequent tardiness these past few weeks. Mr. Santos: I would like to personally apologize for that matter. My wife just gave birth to our first baby and needed my help until we finally found a nanny a few days ago. HR Manager: I see. Well then, I hope this won t happen again. We will formally announce your promotion a week after the end of your training. Read the following sentences carefully.
