1 2016 Open enrollment for Firefighter/EMT Recruitment Please read this information carefully. Welcome to the Bates Technical College joint recruitment testing process. Bates has teamed up with a consortium of Western Washington fire districts and cities to assist them in their hiring needs. There are no requirements of previous experience in the fire service field; however, there are some minimum requirements for each individual department. You must be at least 18 years of age on or before Feb. 5, 2016 to test. Before you get started, please read the agency information for each department for their requirements at General Information The non-refundable written exam fee: $75 The non-refundable CPAT fee: $119, only due if you pass the written test. DO NOT submit résumés or any other certificates, except for the following: IFSAC FF1 Washington state EMT or Paramedic, or National Registry EMT DD214, if claiming veteran s preference, points will be added to your scores by the departments. Getting Started Step 1: Read the agency information for each department s requirements: Step 2: Complete the application, make sure your s are correct, print, sign and send it in. Step 3: Attach only the certifications (not diplomas or completions) that are asked for (see above.) All résumés and extra certifications will be discarded. Step 4: Make sure your credit card information is complete or send cashier s check or money orders (no personal checks are accepted) for your non-refundable $75 testing fee. Step 5: Turn in your application packet by Feb. 5, It must be postmarked no later than 5 p.m. on Feb. 5. (Do not wait until the last minute. Act early and submit your application packet in advance of the deadline.) Applications will not be accepted at the Fire Departments. 2 Test Information Order a study guide here: The written exam is scheduled for March 12, 2016 Test times are 8 a.m., 11:30 a.m., and 3 p.m. Bates will add additional test times or dates if needed based on the total number of applicants. (Please clear your schedules to attend the times listed above) Test times are NOT guaranteed, once your time is set it can t be changed due to the high volume of test takers. Applicants must pass the test and have a score of 80 percent to be considered to move forward in the application process. A CPAT orientation will be scheduled for all candidates the same day of the test, March 12. If you do not want to attend the orientation or practice please sign the waiver in the application. Bates will send out s with the practice test schedule. CPAT Practice Test. CPAT Practice Test Make-up. Bates will schedules for the CPAT test and payment reminder of $119 CPAT Payments due.
