1 Introduction IILM Institute for Higher Education IILM Institute for Higher Education initiated to impart quality education to the youth while equipping them with knowledge and skills which would enable them to leave their individual marks in the business world. IILM institute for Higher Education strives to create a niche of talented managers who make meaningful contributions to global businesses. Offering academic programs at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, IILM allows aspiring managers to get a comprehensive view of the business world. IILM institute entered the education industry responding to the gap in quality education at post graduate level. The Post Graduate Program (PGP), a full time program worked around our principals of imparting quality education to individuals on the threshold of their careers. The specializations were designed keeping in mind the specific needs of the Indian industry and corporate expectations. Realizing the need for holistic development in comparison to fragmented education which has been previously the norm, IILM looks beyond employment as managers and works towards shaping individuals to be great managers. Through skills of lifetime relevance we aim at developing students to their true potential. Modules such as image management, language modules, public relations, personality development workshops hold an integral part of the overall curriculum. Professionalism, critical thinking and good communication skills have become synonyms with IILM graduates. Teachers provide the path towards each individual s goal and abiding with this philosophy, we have core faculty strength of more than 80 who bring with them varied and extensive industry and research experience, ensuring the right academia industry interface along with an intensive curriculum. Individual attention is the crux of our success. Holistic education cannot be complete without a healthy study environment and therefore, IILM offers an exceptional infrastructure. State of the art modern facilities assist in conducting the various academic programs along with a high degree of interactivity both within and outside the campus. The campuses in New Delhi and Gurgaon are ideally situated with ample greenery and open spaces. Facilities such as basketball courts, parking spaces add to the convenience encouraging the focus only on education and learning. Air conditioned classrooms with sophisticated audio visual systems make for a conducive learning experience. Group discussions and conventional lecture formats are further enhanced through a highly developed internet platform. For a management institute it is imperative to be prepared for the changing environment while teaching its students to do the same. Responding to globalization and the global standards of work, IILM has entered into various ventures with reputed institutes such as London School of Economics, University of Berkeley, Grenoble Graduate School of Business, France and many others. Through exchange programs and tie ups, the institute provides it student s exposure to different cultures and diversity amongst the workplace. Finally, IILM strives to go beyond conventional means of education creating a friendly and warm atmosphere where learning and development are encouraged, resulting in it becoming the center of excellence in holistic education in India.
2 Post Graduate Programme The Post Graduate Programme (PGP) at IILM Institute for Higher Education caters to the demand of management professionals and prepares its graduating students for challenging careers through an intensive and rigorous curriculum. IILM Institute believes in holistic development of the students and their participation in the education programme, instills into them professionalism, critical thinking, ability to work hard, and take decisions. The Institute also exposes the students to all aspects of management and its various facets like environment protection, human values, social responsibility, information and communication systems and so forth. IILM is a centre of excellence in value based education, training, research and consultancy. To encourage cross cultural interaction, we have started School of South Asian Studies since 2007 wherein we take selected students and faculty of PGP to any of the southasian countries like Singapore to study. IILM's mission is to develop tomorrow's business leaders through integrated learning and industry academic partnerships. IILM Institute has core faculty strength of more than 80, who bring with them varied and extensive industry and research experience, ensuring the right academia industry interface that IILM Institute is proud of. All faculty members play an important role in administering the diverse academic and non academic activities of the Institute. The post graduate programme is designed to develop managers with strong conceptual fundamentals and skills required to manage businesses of the future, while giving them the vision to determine what the future will be. The institute endeavours to produce managers having professional attitudes, values and skills to be relevant in the changing business paradigms. The programme ensures thorough grounding of students in fundamental concepts in various fields of management and concurrently develops the requisite pragmatism to test and apply these concepts in real life situations. Programme Structure The Postgraduate Programme (PGP) is aimed at helping students evolve into individuals who know who they are and how they fit into a transforming world. The curriculum is a result of not only benchmarking with world class institutes but also of conscious and continuous innovation. It imparts a strong sense of purpose at the same time equips students to deal with issues and organizational problems in a realistic environment. It imparts learning that transcends boundaries of time, function, industry and culture. IILM Institute offers specialization in all functional areas of management like Marketing, Finance, Human Resource Management, International Business, and Information Technology.

4 Life Skills for Career Development Life Skills, or the lack of them, could make the difference between success and failure. The term Life skills implies a cluster of personality traits, social graces, communication, language, personal habits, friendliness, and optimism that characterize relationships with other people, that are as essential for success and survival, as domain skills. Success today requires an individual to take control of his life, and the place to start is with the self. The IILM programme goes far beyond developing communication skills or creating a visual impression, and seeks to make dramatic changes to the student s sense of self worth, while nurturing him as a social being. Soft skills complement hard skills, which are the technical requirements of a job and many other activities At IILM Business students, go through the Life skills programme, through which they will find ways to connect with people, a valuable asset while networking; develop sensitivity to diverse cultures while growing in emotional literacy and social graces. To achieve these goals, students will be divided into groups of 30, with classes held as double period workshop style if the schedule permits. A range of teaching methods will be used including the lecture method, selfinventories, personal action plans, quizzes, practical exercises, role plays, demonstrations, simulation games. Students will be expected to offer a high level of response. All modules are administered by trained faculty who has had experiences with some of the best training companies in the country. Domain specialists will be invited from time to time to enrich the scope of learning. The module is administered though 5 terms. 1. Managing and Empowering Self Building self confidence and self esteem Time management Stress and Anger management 2. Enhancing Self Image Current affairs and news paper reading Grooming and business Etiquette. 3. Interpersonal Skills Communication Strategies Giving and receiving feedback Building relationships and Networking Emotional intelligence 4. Selling Skills and Summer Internship Workshops All behavioral aspects of selling skills Do s and don ts of Group discussions Facing interviews 5.
