8 OSHA SAFETY-SUBPARTS A & B (CON T) PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) (f)(1) Personal protective equipment. Standards in this part requiring the employer to provide personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators and other types of PPE, because of hazards to employees impose a separate compliance duty with respect to each employee covered by the requirement. The employer must provide PPE to each employee required to use the PPE, and each failure to provide PPE to an employee may be considered a separate violation (f)(2) Training. Standards in this part requiring training on hazards and related matters, such as standards requiring that employees receive training or that the employer train employees, provide training to employees, or institute or implement a training program, impose a separate compliance duty with respect to each employee covered by the requirement. The employer must train each affected employee in the manner required by the standard, and each failure to train an employee may be considered a separate violation.

Currently there is about 80 full time safety coordinators on this jobsite with about 1200 employees in various trades.

11 A REASON FOR EMPHASIZING SAFETY Due to fines, but most importantly to the safety of people, this is why the ratio of safety coordinators to employees continues to go down on a yearly basis. We will continue to see more emphasis on training for workers and supervisors.

16 DISCUSSION - The driver in the preceding slide could have received a serious injury or possibly could have died. Luckily, he walked away with a few scrapes and a knot on his head. Site the thing(s) that are in violation and provide which subpart and section the violation would be from (From the OSHA 1926 section on construction safety). Describe why these things are wrong and what are the potential endangerments to people.
