3 NOT ALL CERTIFICATIONS ARE EQUAL A Simple Check To Save Time & Money Most companies desire PSC.1 certification because they see it as a competitive advantage, it is required by an organization to which you belong, or because it is a contract requirement. Therefore, you want to ensure that what you buy is going to be recognized by potential customers or organizations. If you are a private security company (PSC) looking for credible internationally recognized certification, or you are a member or planning to join the International Code of Conduct Association (ICoCA) for Private Security Providers, then you need to ensure recognized certification to either: PSC.1, ISO 18788, or ISO as part of becoming a full member by September It needs to be issued by a Body authorized through the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) and its multilateral recognition agreement (MLA). The ICoCA has, as part of its Procedure (Article ) issued certification recognition statements for PSC.1 and ISO 28007; ISO is soon to be released; they explicitly include the words: such certification to ANSI/ASIS PSC , [or ISO 28007] must have been obtained from an audit company accredited by a national accreditation body that is a member of the IAF/MLA. And the ICoCA Procedure includes Members may present evidence of certification by an independent accredited certification body under the newly recognized standard as part of their completion of the ICoCA Process. 17 TM RECOGNIZED PROGRESSION TM PROTOCOLS HOW WE MEASURE AND AWARD RECOGNIZED PROGRESSION The client must progress logically through each level. They can accelerate through as many levels as they wish at any time, however will be required to demonstrate acceptable achievement for each level. MSS Global will provide a recognition certificate on achievement of each level, with recognition on our website. MSS Global will also provide explanations to client s customers upon request. If progress to the next level is not achieved within 12 months, then the recognition award is removed, or a client has to revalidate that award 2 months prior to expiry for that level, and those that underpin it. (e.g., staying at SILVER beyond 1 year would require revalidation of FOUNDATION, BRONZE & SILVER through a discounted maintenance fee).
