This additional step protects our pallets from any cross-contamination. The first of several quality control checks is completed at this point of entry. The pallets are then passed through a production line for repairs. All pallets are processed directly into the wash out area for pressure washing. A final quality control check is completed at this point, just prior to being stacked and loaded for its outbound journey. Pallets are unloaded and stored inside our facilities until shipment. At Palleton, in order to comply with your standards, our quality control department takes the extra steps necessary to ensure your pallet is not exposed to weather, pests, birds, dirt, and other contaminants. Pest Control Plunketts Pest Control is used in many of our facilities across the Midwest. We refrain from chemical use to achieve a pest free environment. In other words, we keep our pallets as natural as the trees they come from! 5

This processing area has been designed to provide each pallet a full wash in order to remove and rinse all pallets of any foreign materials before leaving our facility. Industrial units have been put into place with the capability of up to 300 degrees at 3000 PSI. With this power we can remove any debris on the surface of any part of the pallets. The final quality control checks occur during and at the end of this process. 6

Tim Ash-Millard Refrigerated Services Heat Treat Pallet Heat-treating (HT) a pallet is common and most generally requested for use with products set for international shipping. These pallets are placed through a process that increases the minimum core wood temperature up to and not less than 140 degrees fahrenheit for no less than 30 minutes. To reduce any chance of cross-contamination, a designated area has been established on the production floor where all heat-treated material is held. 9
