4 Garment Hanging Central, single and double sided bays To provide the right solution for your space, our garment hanging bays are available in a variety of different dimensions and three basic hanging formats: Single sided Hanging rails on one side only for use against walls. This allow picking and placing from one side of the rack with hanging rails placed one side of each level. Central hanging The hanging rails are centrally located so that garments are entirely contained within the bay. This is ideal in smaller stockrooms or for use with mobile shelving systems. Double sided Hanging rails on both sides for access from two aisles, which is the most popular and economical garment storage solution. Due to its modular construction, the Supershelf garment racking system can also be easily combined with standard shelves or bin storage to store assorted items in sections or within a single bay.

10 Success Stories City Electrical Factory City Electrical Factors has been at the forefront of the distribution of electrical products since it was founded as a private company way back in CEF now operates more warehousing space than 30 football stadiums put together with twice as many distribution outlets as their nearest competitor and it is the fastest growing electrical wholesaler with over 400 branches in the UK. As can be imagined, product storage systems are a crucial aspect of this progressive organisation, as recently highlighted by the business liaison with Action Storage Systems at the new CEF store in Mortimer Street in central London. Action Storage in fact has a history going back to 2001 with CEF having variously supplied Supershelf Shelving, cable racking (longspan shelving) and coil racking to some 50 branches. The new Mortimer Street location was the second to benefit from Supershelf Mobile Shelving - the first being in Docklands as this was the ideal product given the confines of space, and the inherent Action Storage experience was a major factor. The fact that the site was originally being occupied by another company combined with the rise of steel prices, the project took a while to come to fruition and required constant attention from Action Storage in terms of plans, layouts and numerous, imperative site visits to ensure the absolutely correct installation of the mobile bases. All this took place whilst ongoing refurbishment was in progress. This attentive policy paid positive dividends in terms of totally successful completion without a hitch and within budget and time frame.

12 Success Stories Monster Energy Drink Monster Energy was released by Californian based Hansen Natural Corps in Since its launch Monster Energy grew to become a leading energy drink brand and in 2008 its distribution was turned over to Coca-Cola. Monster Energy was in the process of expanding its operations, and required a new warehouse to be outfitted for storing promotional material for its marketing events. It had to find a company with the expertise to plan how to make the best use of the available space and able to install a large quantity of storage racking and shelving within a small timeframe. Action Storage was invited to visit Monster Energy s premises to assess the available space Monster Energy also asked for advice on SEMA installation guidelines, which Action Storage was happy to clarify. Following the onside visit, Action Storage submitted a proposal in competition with other suppliers. Thanks to its competitive pricing, high quality product range and expertise in managing large scale projects, Action Storage s bid was successful.

Monster Energy s warehouse was outfitted with the minimum of inconvenience or impact to the drinks manufacturer s operations. In fact, Monster Energy was so delighted with the efficient service and quality of Action Storage s products that the original order was increased to include mesh partitioning, safety barriers, cupboards, benches and trolleys. The project provided Action Storage with an opportunity to demonstrate its expertise in managing large scale projects. As well as providing plans on the best possible arrangement, Action Storage s in-house installation team completed the entire warehouse outfit well within the customer s time frame. Action Storage now expects to receive a phone call the next time Monster Energy plans on expanding its storage facilities. Thanks to its experience of working within small timeframes and its in-house installation team, Action Storage was able to complete the installation a week ahead of schedule.

Starting out as a newsagents in the late 1970s, they have since grown enormously to include 7 cash and carry warehouses across the country. These walk-in warehouses are critical to the ethos of BGC s trade-only model, allowing the business to operate without any retail outlets of its own, which in turn reduces competition for their customers. The Challenge BGC approached us to supply warehouse shelving for their 8th cash and carry site in Dunstable. This brand new 83,000 square foot facility would be the company s first in the South East, containing kilometres of racking for greeting cards, gifts, costumes and a vast range of other products. With such a wide variety of goods on offer, BGC required an adaptable shelving system that could be configured to provide maximum storage capacity to items of many different weights and dimensions. On top of this, BGC s in-house design

15 department, BGC Studios, ensures that the company s product range is constantly refreshed, so the shelving needed to be easily reconfigurable to account for future stock changes. Although we do offer our own installation service, BGC were happy to install the shelving themselves to ensure fine control over the entire project. The shelving had to be delivered in good time so that deadlines could be kept, but there were concerns that if hundreds of metres of shelving were delivered at once, it might disrupt the wider operation. Finally, with such a large quantity of racking to install, all of these requirements needed to be met at a competitive price. The Process We understand the enormous benefits that long term relationships can provide, and we have therefore worked hard to develop a partnership with BGC over the past 15 years. Our experience delivering storage solutions to their other sites across the UK and Ireland meant that we could quickly identify the unique challenges they faced. Armed with an understanding of BGC s requirements, we knew our own Supershelf steel shelving system was the perfect solution for their latest warehouse. What s more, the intelligent layout crafted by our designers, which combines a number of different shelving configurations, meant that all of this was achieved at a remarkable price.
