First of all we are introducing a totally new series of Ashing Furnaces, the so called PAF series are designed for severe ashing conditions. In this series the heating elements are covered with Quartz tubes for extra protection and the lid opening is rather sideways for easy placement under the Fume Hood. Also starting with this cataloque we will be able to offer, sideways opening lid optionally within PLF series. The second point to mention is the new graphite heated atmosphere controlled furnaces. Enabling a very long and durable service life, graphite heating elements applied also gives a fast heat up and exeptional corrosive resistance. And the third point to inform our Customers, is the introduction of yet another controller in paralel with our popular Honeywell DC1010 controllers. The new PC442T will provide almost the same performance as DC1010 but will have a built in Timer as standard, for almost the same price. Although we will be supplying Honeywell based controllers as usual, this new controller may provide a nice choice for interested parties. This cataloque illustrates our current range of standart laboratory, ceramic and light industrial furnaces. Also included concise information regarding the temperature controls applied. 5 Chamber furnaces PLF 130/6 We now have 2 modalities for Chamber furnaces. Besides The Standard Chamber Furnaces comprising our main line where the heating elements are open, we are now introducing the PAF Ashing series. Ashing series are rather recommended for heavy ashing applications such as Oil /Food Stuff where the carbon emmission during firing process can deposit on the heating elements. Ashing series are produced with Quartz tubing covering the heating elements thereby creating an extra protection. And considering the heavy ashing conditions would require operation under a ventilated hood due to heavy carbon discharge, we have also designed PAF series with a sideways opening lid. In this mode the space problem of upward opening lid will most certainly be eliminated. We hope this modality to be a nice convinience for our Customers working with plastics or with severe ashing requirements Including the large capacity range of furnaces which cover 45 litres inner volume, our standard range Protherm Cham- PLF 130/25 ber Furnaces also cover a very satisfactory range from 1100 C to 1600 C, all of which are front loading for easy operation and double skin construction to maintain a cooler outer case. 6 PLF 120/5 Standard Chamber Furnaces cover a range from 1100 C to 1600 C, all of which are front loading for easy operation and double skin construction to maintain a cooler outer case. Standard models upto 1300 C range, employ open wire heated systems where the elements are supported on ceramic tubes. For temperatures over 1400 C, Kanthal Globar series Silicon Carbide heating eiements are used. Rapid heat up rates are achieved by two side open wire heating and for applications under aggressive atmosheres hot faces are covered by light weight bricks. The important advantage of these models is PLF 115M that element change is very easy and economic. Low thermal mass insulation leads to a very impressive heat up rate as well as efficient insulation. Temperature control provided either by PID or Programmable PID controls depending on customer requirements. Chamber exhaust vent is a standart till 1300 C and should be specially required for furnaces over 1400 C. 8 Ashing furnaces PAF 110/8 PAF series models are particularly designed for Ashing under difficult conditions in laboratory environment. Especially when difficult to ash materials are employed we would particularly recommend the PAF series of furnaces. The basic difference of this series is the protection of heating elements by Quartz tube application and preheated Air inlet system for better ventilation. Also the lid of this series opens sideways giving the user a better chance to operate the furnace within a fume hood where there is limited space. As in all of our furnaces double walled structure and safety switch is standard. The same range of controllers can be applied to these furnaces as well,pending Customer choice. 11 Tube furnaces Universal Tube Furnace PTF 12/50/450 Some of laboratory processes where atmosphere control is vital, require a tube furnace to be used. Alser AS manufactures tube furnaces of various tube diameters and heated lengths. Through application of Kanthal wire and silicon carbide heating elements the temperature range extends to 1600 C as operation temperature. The work tube is always price inclusive and is either Mullite or Recrystallized Alumina. Outer case has an attactive epoxy powder paint and the outer mesh cover maintains a cooler skin for maximum operator safety. Available in the horizontal or vertical models or in Universal mode where the furnace can be arranged to operate at vertical or horizontal or at a degree. Optional consumables include gas tight end fittings of NiCr Steel for controlled atmospheres and vacum applications. Heat shields are provided to minimise heat loss at high temperatures. We also optionally offer a secondary ( indicating )thermocouple for better recording of inside of tube during heat up. We can provide furnaces with a most any of work tube size but those mentioned in the list are usually kept in stock. Optional Consumables are End Fittings for the special atmosphere applications. Over temperature alarm relay as standart with all furnaces that employ SiC heating elements. We provide a limited Warranty for all of Protherm furnaces against faulty workmanship. But heating elements and ceramic work tubes are for consumption and is not covered by our warranty clause. We keep all spares at our stocks for quick delivery whenever a change is required. We can supply gas tight end fittings of stainless steel for controlled atmospheres as an option. We now have 2 models for this purpose,namely Vacuum which is water cooled and Inert Gas types. Pls specify depending on your gas applications. 14 Precision furnaces PZF 12/75/750 with 3-Zone Control PRECISION (3 ZONE) FURNACES Precision furnaces are multi zone heated furnaces.the standard models have 3 zone heating but even more independent heated zones are possible. Precision furnaces are usually designed to give the operator a much wider stable heated (± 5 C) length. Heated length is divided into equal zones and the power for each zone is controlled by means of seperate PZF 12/50/700 with 3-Zone Control controllers. Thus not only a longer heated tube length is achieved but also to create a temperature gradient along the tube is possible. There are 2 modes of controller application for Precision series. Back to back applications allow for programmable heat up where as 3 independent controllers give a possibility of Gradient application. 17 Split furnaces ASP 11/300/400 Alser AS offers several types of furnaces for special applications. Split furnaces provide exceptional ease to place and to heat a tube or a reactor, as well as any inline heating, together with temperature stability. Heating of split furnaces is via wire coils embedded in ceramic fibre, Kanthal-Fibrothal modules. It can be manufactured vertical or horizontal depending on Customer requirement. These furnaces can also be modified as 3-zone furnaces to achieve a wider stable heated zone, although the standard range is of single zone. By application of Kanthal heating modules we now produce a series of Modular Furnaces where operator can easily change the work tube whenever necessary. Modular furnaces can be manufactured vertical or horizontal depending on Customer requirement. They can be modified with 3-zone or more heated furnaces to achieve a wider stable heated zone. 23 High temperature Chamber furnaces MoS - F 170/4 Kanthal Super Molibdenum Disiliside Heated Chamber Furnaces cover the range of 1500 C to 1800 C. MoS-B series of furnaces are Table Top applications and cover a range of 1-8 litres, with elements placed at sides of chamber. In this range we think our 1-2 litre furnaces are quite interesting for those who require the temperature but not the volume. For small samples these furnaces will provide a very economical solution. We,together with this cataloque,are also introducing MoS-F series where the furnace is placed onto a self standing case. For relatively large volumes this series is quite handy considering the wheeled structure. With our usual double skin MoS - B 170/4 construction and a very high grade insulation all of these furnaces give extremely good heat insulation, keeping the outer case cool. Vertical and manual lifting door has a safety switch to cut off power while open. An independent Over Temperature Control is available optionally whereas Alarm relay to cut off power whenever necessary as a safety measure is standard. All Protherm controllers are applicable for this series. Applications for this series include almost all high temperature sintering processes such as Ceramic, Dental and Material Research. 26 High temperature Elevator furnaces ELV 180/8 To satisfy the needs for bottom loading and quick discharge requirements we would suggest the use of Elevators Furnaces. Basic usage for these type of furnaces are for Glaze Fritting or Glass Melting or in fact any test that asks for quick removal of samples from furnace. 29 Atmosphere Controlled furnaces ACF 18/10/GR Use of Tube Furnaces for Controlled Atmosphere applications are common in Research. The negative side of Tube Furnaces are their obviously limited useful volume which are dependant on the inner tube diameter. For Researchers that require a larger volume to work with relatively larger samples the solution is atmosphere controlled box furnaces. The ACF series furnaces which can operate under several atmospheres upto temperatures of 1800C,will be a handy and reliable alternative. Incooperated with a sideways opening lid,this series have the option of very tight gas flow control, under optional Mass Flow controllers. In addition to the usual Kanthal Super heating element application,we now have Graphite based ACF series Molibdenum Disiliside based heating elemets are quite prone to atmopshere effects during operation wehere as Graphite is almost inert to any application other than oxygen Related Vucuum pumps will also be supplied optionally. Applicable temperatures vary in between C. For these series exclusively Programmable controllers with RS485 interface are used. 37 Glass furnaces ELV 170/8 Glass Furnaces are within our standard range and for Glass Fusion and Pate de Verre Furnaces, as well as custom made ones are also possible. Glass Fusion Furnaces are all top heated with heating elements to spread heat evenly, to achieve maximum temperature homogenity. There are several observation ports where Artist can manage faster cooling as well as observing the stage of fusion, All Bentrup origin controllers are applicable for these funaces together with our standard Honeywell DC1010 controller. All models have a stand frame on wheels for easy moving. There are also gas struts to enable easy lid opening. For Custom made higher volumes hydrolic lift mechanisms are employed. 39 Temperature Control systems Honeywell UDC 2500 Protherm PC 442T One of the most important choice you have to make, is to decide the controller type you prefer to be applied. Since the controller is the most defining part to effect the performance of the furnace, we think it is quite important to give our customers most varied choice as possible. We now have the chance to increase this choice,as we are offering Protherm PC442T and 442 series controllers. PC442T is a new introduction to our already established 442 series. PC442T is a economical alternative to Honeyell DC1010 but with addition of built in Timer facility. Although we keep our Honeywell DC1010 and UDC2500 controllers, we think 442 to be a very good choice. PC442T and 442 series in general also has the Hot Start facility as standard and quite handy in places where power cut offs are frequent. Hot Start facility will enable the programme to start automaticly after power is restored. Optionally PC442 controllers will provide RS485 interface for remote data collection. PC442 controllers will have several ranges as 2, 6,18 steps under a single programme and 2 types multi programmable version of 5 programmes of each 20 steps (MP5 version) and 20 programmes of 30 steps at each (MP20 version). 40 Honeywell DC1010 A simple to use and economical PID controller Housed in 48 x 48 mms case (1/16 DIN) this controller has a dual display where set and actual temperature can be observed. Definitions of several alarm features are also possible. PC442/2 Housed in a 72x72mms case, the simplest type programmable cont-roller series of PC442 where only single ramp to set and single dwell time is available. Alarm relay is standard and computer connection is available as an option. It also provides Hot Start facility thus restart of programme is a standard feature. Bentrup TC 60 Powerful yet compact microprocessor based control for 3 ramps and 1 dwell, upto 5 seperate firing profiles can be applied and these are kept in memory even after power-off. There is also a start-delay facility upto 10 hours. Honeywell UDC step programmable controller of 6 ramps and 6 dwells. Alarm relay and computer connection is available as an option. To provide a very sensitive control under programme application, fuzzy control is a standard feature. PC442/6 or 18 Housed in a 72x72mms case, these controllers of PC442 provide either 6 steps or 18 steps,where the ramps and dwell times available. Bentrup TC 40 TC 40 has a single programme which is very simple and user friendly to apply. Bentrup TC 60/8 A powerful cont-roller where almost all firing curves can be achieved. Upto 8 steps and delay timer upto 10 hours. But it has only one user definable programme.

41 Accessories furnaces End- Caps for Vacuum Applications / End- Caps for Inert Gas Protherm Furnaces also provides some optional accesories for furnace applications. As far as the Tube furnaces concerned, we provide Stainless Steel End-Caps for both Vacuum and Inert Gas applications. Whenever the quantity control is important we also offer our gas mixing and control systems where digital Mass Flow Controllers are used. For the box furnaces a Vent with suction fan can be provided, to enhance the removal of fumes from the furnace. This is also a solution we offer for enhanced burning/ ashing processes, for the supply of extra air into the furnace. For box Furnace applications, at relatively lower temperatures, we can supply an inner fan to enhance the heat disbtribution.
