2 Technical Data Package Technical Data Package Tychem FR (Reflector ) RF600T Compliant with Base Requirements and Chemical Flash Fire Protection Option and Liquefied Gas Protection Option Requirements of NFPA 1991, 2016 Edition Consult the DuPont Tychem Garment User Manual for Instructions on use Front Entry Style RF600T Accessories and certified pass thru options are listed in an attached document, DuPont Tychem Accessories List. NFPA 1991 Compliant Tychem FR (Reflector ) Ensembles are available in the following sizes: SM, MD, LG, XL, 2X, 3X, and 4X. The sizing chart for these garments is provided on the next page. NFPA 1991 Compliant Tychem FR (Reflector ) Ensembles are made from a proprietary aluminized fabric made using a DuPont Nomex and Kevlar aramid fiber blend fabric laminated to a multi-layer chemical barrier film. The chemical garment and visor seams are sewn using thread made of Kevlar or Nomex aramid fiber. The garment and visor seams are sealed inside and outside with hot-air welded chemical barrier tape. The visor material in the NFPA 1991 Compliant Tychem FR (Reflector ) ensemble consists of an outer layer of 40 mil PVC, a second layer of 5 mil Teflon FEP and a third inner layer of 40 mil PVC. There are no detachable or replaceable visor components. The glove configuration consists of: Outer Glove: Kevlar Knit Glove - Made of DuPont Kevlar Yarn Middle Glove: Guardian #IN 35 Neoprene Inner Glove: North SSG-Silver Shield /4H These gloves are unlined and have no surface treatments. The outer glove is provided in size 10, the middle glove in size 10 and the inner glove in size 11. The inner and middle gloves are connected to the sleeve of the chemical barrier garment with a rigid plastic ring and metal ring clamp. The seal is accomplished by mechanical compression of the garment and glove materials. The outer glove is not physically attached to the chemical suit; it is to be worn over the middle glove. Chemical barrier socks and boot cover flaps are attached to the garment and are made from suit material. The socks provide barrier protection for the wearer s feet. The ensembles are certified with Onguard HazMax 87012, Tingley HazProof (orange) and Tingley HazProof (black) boots that are to be worn over the socks and under the boot flaps. The boots are not physically attached to the garment. These boots have steel toes and ladder shanks and provide physical protection. There are no surface treatments applied to the boots. The Onguard HazMax boots are available in sizes 6 to 15. The Tingley HazProof boots are available in sizes 7 to 13. NOTE: The boots are not provided with the ensemble and must be purchased separately. Page 2 of 14
3 The 48 inch long, vapor-protective closure has alloy teeth. The slider components are aluminum-bronze. The zipper pull is an aluminum-bronze ring with a PVC pull extension. The closure is mounted on a PVC coated polyester fabric base tape that is sewn to inside of the chemical barrier garment and sealed with air welded tape. The closures are covered by two flaps made of primary garment material. The flaps are fastened with hook-and-loop closures. The closure has not been tested for permeation resistance. The two exhaust valves are manufactured by Pirelli. The valve is manufactured with an impact resistant plastic body and a removable splash shield. The diaphragm is made of molded rubber. The valves are inserted through the chemical suit material and secured with a threaded inner ring, sealed with mechanical compression. The valve assemblies are covered with a flap of primary suit material to reduce direct splash on the exhaust valve assembly. For information on purchasing replacement exhaust valve diaphragms, please call DuPont Customer Service: United States Instructions for replacing the exhaust valve diaphragm can be found in the DuPont Technical Data Package Garment Sizing Tychem Garment User s Manual for Universal Pressure Test Kit. This ensemble will accommodate a Class G cap compliant with ANSI Z89.1 worn inside the suit. Tychem garments may be used for 5 years from date of manufacture as long as all of the following conditions are met: 1. The garment has been stored properly (see section on Storage Conditions) 2. The garment has not been damaged, altered, or contaminated 3. The garment passes a full visual inspection (view garment inspection instructions). Shelf life of Tychem RF 600T garments is based on testing naturally aged garments. Following SCBA were used for certification of the garment.
