GENERAL PROVISIONS 1 The general certificate of construction approval is deemed to be proof of the suitability / usability of the approval object as defined by the Land Building Code. 2 The general certificate of construction approval does not apply in place of the permits, approvals and certifications required by law for the completion and execution of building projects. 3 The general certificate of construction approval is granted without prejudice to the rights of third parties, especially of proprietary rights. 4 Notwithstanding any further stipulations in the "Special Provisions", the manufacturer and distributor of the approval object must provide the user of the approval object with copies of the general certificate of construction approval and to note that the general certificate of construction approval certificate must be available at the site of use. Upon request, copies of the general certificate of construction approval must be provided to the authorities involved. 5 The general certificate of construction approval may be reproduced and copied only in its entirety. It may be published in extract only with the consent of the Deutsches Institut für Bautechnik (German Construction Engineering Institute). Texts and drawings in advertising material must not contradict the content of the general certificate of construction approval. Translations of the general certificate of construction approval must carry the notice: "This translation from the original text has not been reviewed by the Deutsches Institut für Bautechnik". 6 The general certificate of construction approval is granted subject to revocation. The provisions of the general certificate of construction approval may be amended and modified at any time, especially if and when required by most recent technical developments and findings.

SPECIAL PROVISIONS 1 Approval object and range of use 1.1 Approval object The object of this approval is the Stahl POWER HIT Injection System (hereinafter "the anchor"), consisting of the SVM injection mortar, a screen sleeve and an anchor rod with nut and washer in the sizes M8 and M10. The anchor rod (incl. nut and washer) is made of zinc-plated steel or of stainless steel. The anchoring system rests on the principle of utilising the bond and form-lock between the injection mortar, the screen sleeve, the anchor rod and the anchoring base. Annex 1 shows the anchor in its installed state. 1.2 Range of use The anchor may be used for anchorings under predominantly static load, unless special requirements regarding fire resistance are specified for the total construction including the anchor. The temperature in the mortaring zone must not exceed 50 C, or 80 C for brief periods. The anchor base must consist of DIN 1053 masonry made of the following building materials and minimum stone strength classes: Solid bricks Mz 12 DIN 105, solid sand-lime bricks KS 12 DIN 106, honeycomb bricks HLz 4 DIN 105 and perforated sand-lime bricks KSL DIN 106. The mortar must comply with the minimum requirements of standard mortar of Mortar Group II and with thin-bed or light-weight mortar according to DIN : , Annex A3. The anchor may also be set in masonry joints. The anchor made of zinc-plated steel may be used only in members in closed rooms, e.g. dwellings, office premises, schools, hospitals, sales areas - with the exception of wet rooms. The anchor (anchor rod, washer and hex nut) made of stainless steel with material No and may also be used in constructions in corrosion resistance class III in compliance with the general construction approval "Members and Connecting Elements made of Stainless Steel" approval No. Z , i.e. it may be used in wet rooms and outdoors, also in industrial atmosphere and in proximity to the sea (not, however, under salt/sea water exposure), unless further corrosive exposures are likely to occur. 2 Provisions for the building product 2.1 Properties and composition The anchor must comply in its dimensions and material specifications with the details given in the annexes. The material specifications, dimensions and tolerances of the anchor which are not given in this general construction approval, and the chemical composition of the injection mortar, must comply with the details deposited with the Deutsches Institut für Bautechnik and with the external supervisory board.

4 Page 4 of the general certificate of construction approval No. Z dated 17 July 2002 The injection mortar must consist of two components (resin and hardener) supplied unmixed in mortar cartridges (150 ml, 300 ml, 235 ml and 345 ml) as specified in Annex 3. The general construction approval Z "Members and Connecting Elements made of Stainless Steel" applies, in addition, to the anchor components made of stainless steel. In accordance with that approval, the base material and bought-in parts made of stainless steel must be supplied by the manufacturer with a certificate of compliance (CoC) and acceptance test certificate 3.1.B DIN EN : for the purpose of proving the compliance. For the base material of the steel threaded parts, the manufacturer must provide proof of the steel grade and the mechanical properties by way of a works test certificate 2.3 DIN EN The anchor rod in the design version steel gal Zn A2 according to DIN ISO 4042: must comply with the minimum strength class DIN EN ISO 898-1: or, if made of stainless steel of material No or , with strength class A4-70 according to DIN ISO 3506: The hexagonal nut with the dimensions according to DIN 934 in the design version steel gal Zn A2 according to DIN EN ISO 4042 must comply with the minimum strength class 5 DIN EN : or, if made of stainless steel of material No or , with strength class A4-70 according to DIN EN ISO The washer with the dimensions according to DIN 125-1: in the design version steel gal Zn A2 according to DIN EN ISO 4042 must comply with material No (St 37-2) according to DIN EN : or, if made of stainless steel, with material No or according to DIN EN : For the washer DIN 125, a manufacturer's declaration of conformity (DoC) must be supplied in compliance with the Building Regulation List A, part 1, No Packaging, storage and markings Packaging and storage The two components of the injection mortar are supplied unmixed in cartridges for blending as specified in Annex 3. The injection mortar is to be protected from exposure to sunlight and heat and must be stored under dry conditions at temperatures between +5 C and 25 C as specified in the installation instructions Marking The manufacturer must mark the packing, check slip or the delivery note of the anchor with the compliance symbol (Ü-symbol) as specified by the compliance regulations of the Länder. In addition, the works symbol, the approval number and the complete description of the anchor must be specified. The identification markings may be attached only if the conditions listed under chapter 2.3 are met. The injection mortar cartridge must be marked in compliance with the regulations for hazardous working materials and with the description "Stahl POWER HIT, Verbundmörtel Injektionssystem SVM" and with details on shelf-life, hazardous material description and processing. The installation instructions supplied with the injection mortar must provide details on protective measures when handling hazardous substances. The anchor shall be marked with the product name and the thread size, e.g. Stahl POWER HIT Injections System M10.

5 Page 5 of the general certificate of construction approval No. Z dated 17 July 2002 Each anchor rod is to be stamped with the works symbol and the anchoring depth (anchor rod) as specified in Annex 2, e.g. S M10. the anchor made of stainless steel material class or shall carry the additional stamping V. The required anchoring depth must be shown in the anchor rod marking specified in Annex Proof of compliance General information The compliance of the anchor with the provisions of this general certificate of construction approval must be attested by each production plant by way of a certificate of compliance based on the internal works production controls and the regular external supervision including an initial inspection as specified in the provisions listed below. For the issuance and granting of a certificate of compliance and the external supervision including the accompanying product test, the manufacturer of the mortar must employ the services of an approved certification board and a supervision board. A copy of the certificate of compliance issued by the certification board must be sent to the Deutsches Institut für Bautechnik Internal works production controls Internal works production controls must be established and carried out in each manufacturing plant. Internal works production controls are defined as the manufacturer's continuous production supervision which the manufacturer performs to ensure that the building products manufactured by him comply with the provisions of this general certificate of construction approval. The internal production controls should include the minimum measures listed below. The test schedule deposited with the Deutsches Institut für Bautechnik and with the external supervision board shall determine the scope, the nature and the frequency of the internal works production controls. The results of the internal works production controls must be recorded and evaluated. The records must contain the following minimum information: Description of the building product or the base material and the components Type and nature of the control or test Date of manufacture and test of the building product or the base material or of the components Results of the control and test and, if applicable, the comparison with the requirements Signature of the person responsible for the internal works production control. The records must be retained for a minimum period of five years and must be submitted to the supervision board employed for the external supervision. If requested, they must be submitted to the Deutsches Institut für Bautechnik and to the supreme building and construction supervision authority. If the test results are inadequate, the manufacturer must immediately take the appropriate action for remedying the non-compliance. Building products which do not comply with the requirements must be handled such that confusion with compliant products is ruled out. As soon as the non-compliance is remedied, the appropriate test must be repeated forthwith, provided that such repeat test is technically feasible and required for furnishing proof of remedying the non-compliance External supervision The internal works production controls in each manufacturing plant must be reviewed at regular intervals, not less than twice per year, by external supervision. The external supervision involves the initial test of the anchor and random samples. The responsibility for sampling and testing rests with the approved supervision board.

The results of the certification and of the external supervision must be retained for a minimum period of five years. If requested, the certification/supervision board must submit said results to the Deutsches Institut für Bautechnik and to the supreme building and construction supervision authority 3 Provisions for design and structural design 3.1 Design The anchorings must be planned in accordance with proper engineering practices and procedures. Taking due account of the loads to be anchored, verifiable calculations and construction drawings must be made. 3.2 Structural design General information The anchorings must be designed in accordance with proper engineering practices and procedures. Proof of immediate local force introduction into the anchor base has been furnished. Proof of transmission of the loads to be anchored in the member must be furnished. Any bending stress acting on the anchor may be disregarded only if the following conditions are maintained: - the member to be connected must be made of metal and must be stressed without intermediate layer in the anchoring zone against the anchor base - the fixture with its entire thickness must make contact with the anchor rod - the passage hole in the fixture to be connected must not exceed the values given in Annex 6 Any additional stress caused by impaired form change (e.g. change of temperatures) which may be generated in the anchor, in the fixture or in the member in which the anchor is mortared, must be taken into account. Plaster, rendering, pebbledash or compensating layers are deemed to be non-load-bearing and may not be taken into account in the anchoring depth. In masonry walls made of solid sand-lime and honeycomb sand-lime bricks, the screen sleeve SH 15/100 must always be used. The assignment of the various screen sleeves to the anchor bases is shown in Annex Admissible loads The admissible loads apply to the load directions centric load, shear load and combined load under any angle. The admissible loads of anchors for anchorings in different types of masonry are specified in Table 4, Annex. 4. In anchorings in masonry made of honeycomb bricks (HLz, KSL), the admissible loads may be increased if the drillhole is made at rotating speed. Additional proof must be made for honeycomb sand-lime bricks to the effect that the outside web ridges of the bricks have a minimum length of 30 mm (old bricks). In masonry made of vertical honeycomb bricks, the admissible load may be increased in HLz 4 to 0.6 kn, in HLz 6 to 0.8 kn and in HLz 12 to 1.0 kn. In masonry made of perforated sand-lime bricks, the admissible load may be increased in KSL 4 to 0.6 kn, in KSL 6 to 0.8 kn and in KSL 12 to 1.4 kn.

7 Page 7 of the general certificate of construction approval No. Z dated 17 July 2002 The maximum loads in Table 5, Annex 4, introduced into a single brick by a single anchor or an anchor group, must not be exceeded. The smaller of the values resulting from Tables 4 and 5, as well as the load increase when making the drillhole at rotating speed, shall apply. For anchor pairs and anchor groups of four with axial spacing (min a red a<a) lower than specified in Annex 6, the admissible load for each anchor for anchorings in vertical honeycomb bricks (HLz) and in perforated sand-lime bricks (KSL) according to Annex 6 must be reduced to the value F. The arrangement of the anchors follows Annex Anchor spacings and minimum member dimensions The installation characteristics and the required axial spacings and edge distances, as well as the minimum member thickness, are given in Annex 6. Refer to Annexes 1 to 6 for the definition of the dimensions Bending stress The admissible bending moments are given in Annex 5. The arithmetic restraint point lies behind the surface of the anchor base equal to a measure of the nominal diameter of the connecting thread. Plaster, tiles and similar are deemed to be non-load-bearing. In the event of bending stress with additional tension, the existing tension load component must not exceed the following value: Fz zul F (1 - M/zul M) with zul F = admissible load acc. to Annex 4 zul M = admissible bending moment acc. to Annex 5 Fz = existing tension load component M = existing bending moment In facade claddings with fluctuating bending load exposure (e.g. as a result of temperature changes), the tension deflection _A = ± 50 N/mm_ around the median _M, with reference to the arithmetic tension cross-section of the anchor rod thread, must not be exceeded Displacement behaviour Under the admissible loads specified in Annex 4, the following displacements of single anchors and anchor groups in the load direction must be expected: centric tension: below 0.3 mm shear load: below 1.0 mm Under continuous admissible loads, additional displacements of as much as 0.2 mm may occur. In the event of combined loads, the existing hole play between anchor and fixture must be taken into account.

8 Page 8 of the general certificate of construction approval No. Z dated 17 July Provisions for on-site execution 4.1 General information The anchor must be used only as anchoring unit supplied as standard. Individual parts or components must not be exchanged. The anchor must be installed in accordance with the design drawings made in accordance with chapter 3.1 and with the manufacturer's setting instructions. Prior to the setting of the anchor, the condition of the anchor base must be ascertained. In masonry, it must comply with the strength classes which are assigned to the admissible loads in Annex 4. Installation in joints is permissible. 4.2 Making and cleaning out the drillhole The drillhole is to be made at right angle to the surface of the anchoring base, using a carbide impact or hammer power drill. The carbide masonry drills must comply with the specifications in the instruction brochure "Characteristics, requirements and tests of masonry drill with carbide cutting bits used for making drill holes for anchor anchorings" as amended in January Maintenance and observance of the drill characteristics must be evidenced in compliance with chapter 5 of the instruction brochure. Nominal drill diameter and drillhole depth of Annex 6 must be maintained. Incorrectly set drillholes are to be sealed with mortar. a) Solid bricks The drillhole must be made in accordance with manufacturer's instructions and must be thoroughly cleaned at least by blowing out once, brushing out once, blowing out once, brushing out once and blowing out once. b) Honeycomb bricks The drillhole must be made in accordance with manufacturer's instructions and must be thoroughly cleaned at least by blowing out once, brushing out once, and blowing out once. The cleaning brush as shown in Annex 5 with an external diameter of 30 mm must be used for brushing out the drillhole. Prior to using the brush, the user must make check to make sure that the brush has an adequate external diameter, i.e. the minimum remaining diameter of the brush must be 20 mm. 4.3 Setting the anchor The screen sleeve must be inserted in the drillhole such that it lies flush with the anchoring base. Plaster, rendering, tiles and similar must be removed from within the anchoring zone such that the screen sleeve may be set flush with the anchoring base. In masonry walls made of solid and perforated sand-lime bricks, the screen sleeve SH 15/100 must always be used. The assignment of the screen sleeves to the various anchoring bases is shown in Annex 4. The mortar components are mixed during the extrusion in the attached the static mixer of the individual mortar components in compliance with Annex 3. The injection mortar is deemed to be adequately blended if it is of an even grey colour. The first two strokes of each dispensing unit are to be discarded and must not be used for anchorings. The admissible processing time of a cartridge as factor of the temperature in the cartridge and inside the anchoring base, including pressing in the anchor rod, is shown in the installation instructions.

9 Page 9 of the general certificate of construction approval No. Z dated 17 July 2002 The drillhole must be filled with the minimum injection mortar quantity of the mortar cartridge specified in the installation instructions, shown in Annex 3. The anchor rod is pushed by hand up to the marking of the anchoring depth into the mortar-filled screen sleeve, applying a turning motion. For every work break lasting longer than the specified processing time (see manufacturer's installation instructions), the front attachment parts of the cartridge must be replaced. The minimum processing temperature of the mortar must be +5 C. During the curing period of the injection mortar, the temperature inside the anchoring base must not fall below +5 C. The holding time prior to applying the load as shown in Annex 4 must be observed. If the fixture to be connected does not make direct contact with the screen sleeve, shims or a lock nut must be used, taking account of the bending stress in accordance with chapter When attaching the fixture with the help of a torque wrench, the torque specified in Annex 6 must not be exceeded. 4.4 Checking the limit status of the anchor The limit status (load-bearing capacity) of the anchor is to be checked by way of a trial loading in 3% of the anchors set in a member, at least, however, in 2 anchors of each size. The check is deemed to be satisfactory if no discernible displacement takes place during the trial loading under 1.3 times the value of the admissible tension load shown in Annex 4. If an anchor fails to meet the control requirement, an additional 25% of the anchors (min. 5 anchors) of the member in which the improperly anchor has been set must be checked. If one more anchor fails to meet the control requirements, all anchors in this member must be checked. The anchors failing to meet the control requirements must not be used for force transmission. A protocol of the anchor limit status checks must be kept, showing the position of the anchor in relation to the member, the applied load and the result. The protocol must be retained together with the building files. 4.5 Controls A site engineer of the contractor or his qualified deputy must be present at the building site when setting the anchorings are set. The supervisor must ensure the proper completion of the work. During the making of the anchorings, the building supervisor or his deputy must keep proper records on the proof of the anchoring base (type of masonry, strength class and mortar group), the temperature inside the anchoring base, and the proper installation of the anchors. These records must be made available on site during the building period and are to be submitted to the person in charge of building supervision. Together with the delivery notes, these records must be retained by the contractor for a minimum period of five years after completion of the building work. Feistel Attested
