1 Page 1 of 6 Title Undertake petrochemical wellhead maintenance activities under supervision Level 3 Credits 4 Purpose This unit standard applies to operational activities carried out on producing wellheads. People credited with this unit standard are, under supervision, able to: establish the symptoms and causes of wellhead faults; prepare for the removal and dismantling of wellhead items and components; contribute to the removal of items and components at a petrochemical wellhead; replace wellhead components and component parts; assemble wellhead components and component parts; and adjust and test wellhead component parts in restored equipment. Classification Petrochemical Industry > Petrochemical Well and Wellhead Operations Available grade Achieved Explanatory notes 1 Performance of the outcomes of this unit standard must comply with relevant site requirements, manufacturer's recommendations, instructions of the assigned company engineer, and the following legislation: Health and Safety at Work Act 2015; Resource Management Act This unit standard is intended for, but is not limited to, workplace assessment. While all evidence requirements must be met, it is noted that all range statements within this unit standard are indicative and dependent on enterprise and site specific equipment, procedures, and practices. 3 This unit standard applies to wellhead equipment above the master shut off valve on the Christmas tree. 4 Definition Site requirements mean the site specific documented methods for performing work activities and include health, safety, environmental, and quality management requirements. They may refer to manuals, codes of practice, or policy statements.
