2 Energy in Thailand : Facts & Figures Transport has been the second energy consuming sector in Thailand, accounting for 36% of total final energy consumption, compared to industrial sector consumed energy 37%. Road transport, which plays an important role in economic development, consumed almost 80% of energy consumption in transportation sector. For this reason, Thai Government try to encourage the use of alternative energy consumption in transportation sector by cancellation of benzene 91 on 1 January 2013 in order to increase gasohol consumption. Contents Primary Energy Supply 1 Final Energy Consumption 2 Alternative and 3 Renewable Energy Green Electricity 4-5 Bioenergy 6 Biofuels 7 Energy Efficiency 8 As a result, Thailand consumed ethanol 2.3 million litres/day in Q1/2013 compared to the year of 2012, which used 1.4 million litres/day.
