2 Regulatory Requirements Existing Range Constructed 1985 prior to OSHA guidelines Range design requirements and guidelines: 29 CFR OSHA General Industry Lead Standard Laminar airflow at firing line between ft per minute 85 dba max noise in range Determinations: HEPA Filtered Ventilation System necessary to limit officer exposure to airborne lead Acoustical Treatments necessary to limit hearing loss due to range use 2

3 Police Training Requirements Live Fire Training requirements include: Marksmanship Low and No Light Training Scenarios Moving and turning targets for Static and Tactical Training scenarios Pre-programmed and Trainer controlled scenarios Larger firing line (8 lanes vs 6 lanes) provides more training area for live-fire drills and tactical team-movement exercises Determination: Range Design to Provide Capability for Expanded Live Fire Training Options 3

4 Police Training Requirements Simulator Training Integrates real world scenarios and images Shoot/Don't shoot scenarios incorporated to Enhance decision-making and de-escalation Skills for individual and teams 3-D scenarios and situational awareness training Determination: Include dedicated simulation classroom to provide for simulation training capabilities. 4
