3 3 ADR/RID/ADN: Amendments 2019: Exemptions, related to the nature of the transport operation Exemptions, related to quantities carried per CTU [ Applicability of other regulations: pressure receptacles with DOT approval, but without ADR approval (b) The carriage of machinery or equipment not specified in Annex A and which happen to contain dangerous goods in their internal or operational equipment(deleted) Note: - see amended UN 3363 and new UN for transitional period see transport category Substances or articles UN No :, , Notwithstanding sub-sections , , and gases and liquids listed in the tables of P200 and P208 imported in accordance with in refillable pressure receptacles approved by the US DOT may be carried from the location of the temporary storage to the enduser under the following conditions: a) When imported from a non-adr contracting party, the conformity of the pressure receptacles to this sub-section shall be verified and recorded by the consignor. The verification record shall be kept for five years to allow for inspection by the competent authority and shall include the identification of the pressure receptacles, the name of the person making the verification and the date. b) The pressure receptacles shall be marked and labelled in accordance with chapter 5.2.

4 4 c) All relevant requirements of ADR with regard to filling ratios and periodic testing frequency shall be fulfilled. d) When the pressure receptacles are empty or when the end-user has no further use for the gas or liquid, the pressure receptacles shall not be refilled and shall be returned to the country from which they were imported. e) Empty imported pressure receptacles approved by the US DOT may be filled with gases and liquids in the tables of P200 provided they are exported to countries which are not ADR contracting parties. All relevant requirements of ADR with regard to filling ratios and periodic testing frequency shall be fulfilled. The pressure receptacles shall be marked and labelled in accordance with chapter 5.2. f) The consignor for the ADR journey shall include the following entry in the transport document: CARRIAGE IN ACCORDANCE WITH Notes: - = M299 ( ) - 49 CFR (a)(3), (a) and (a)(3) will be amended to legalize import of pressure receptacles with ADR approval in the U.S.A.]

15 Selection of the correct proper shipping name When a combination of several distinct proper shipping names are listed under a single UN number, and these are - separated by conjunctions such us and or or are in lower case or - when segments of the name punctuated by commas, the entire name of the entry need not necessarily only the most appropriate shall be shown in the transport document and package marks. This is the case particularly when a combination of several distinct entries are listed under a single UN number. Examples illustrating the selection of the proper shipping name for such entries are: (a) UN 1057 LIGHTERS or LIGHTER REFILLS The proper shipping name is the most appropriate of the following possible combinations: LIGHTERS LIGHTER REFILLS (b) Consequence: either or as from 2019 Applies to > 200 UN numbers
