3 Main Objectives Empowerment of Fisherwomen community in green livelihood activities Support the protection of Marine reserve of the project focus area Create a sustainable green enterprise for fisher women Marine environment sustainability Explore and exploit the potentials of the combava plants and others identified by selected consultants. 3

8 Green Policies Enabling the Transition Towards A Green Economy Regulatory tools: Command and Control Environmental Quality Standards: Bio certification of locally produced items Restrictions and Bans: Control the impacts of undesirable goods and behaviour: In the project context it is the exemplary closure of octopus fishing season thrice a year. Regulatory tools need to be complemented by an effective monitoring system namely under fisheries and bio certifying body supervision Information bases tools: Eco schemes, trainings etc Government collaborating with other actors to provide information 8
