Miel Maya Honing asbl is a belgian officially recognised Non- Governmental Organisation (NGO) ; The organisation is active for 40 years in Latin and Central America and since 2011 in Africa where we support beekeeping development projects In Belgium, we aim at increasing awareness of Fair Trade product, especially honey. 4 What is BNNS? Beekeeping Network North-South (BNNS) Network of beekeeping experts representatives of beekeeping and development organizations that are committed to promoting the role of beekeeping as a development tool. It's one of the results of the seminar on beekeeping and development in Brussels in March 2010 initiated by the Miel Maya Honing (Belgium) and Apiflordev (France) organizations which brought together 80 people from 14 different countries. Principal activity of BNNS : The moderation of the French beekeeping exchange group on the TECA plateform (FAO)

11 Technologies and practices for small agricultural producers TECA Beekeeping Exchange Group Established in 2010, with the technical support of Apimondia, to improve the exchange of information on beekeeping around the world; Independently managed in 3 languages: Beekeeping Exchange Group in French moderated by Elsa Demoulin, MMH-BNNS since 2015 Beekeeping Exchange Group in English moderated by Charlotte Lietaer, FAO HQ since 2010 Beekeeping Exchange Group in Spanish moderated by Camilo Ruiz, FILAPI since technologies available: 45 in English, 21 in French, and 34 in Spanish Many resources such as training manuals, information sheets, etc. Partnership with Apimondia, Bee Institute Kirchain, Bees for Development, CARI, Amigos de la Abejas, CET, FHIA, GIZ, IRACH, IZSLT, MMH, Ministry of Agriculture of Tanzania, Ministry of Agriculture of Oman, SAGARPA, University of Los Baños, Philippines, Stingless bee Research Institute 11
