Reporting AICRP Centre: Agricultural Research Station, Nellore. Area covered: Nellore Sub-Division, SPSR Nellore District. Varieties grown: MTU1010, and NLR34449 Crop Stage: Flowering to Milking Stage Pest Status: Leaf mite moderate, Panicle mite- low, Stemborer-low, Leaf folder-moderate. 1

Whorl maggot- Kawari, Chhari, Barari, Mahakaal and Gankhettar. Leaf folder- All surveyed places with low to moderate intensity. Caseworm- Mahakaal areas only. Stemborer- Gankhettar, Malan and Biara areas. Chaffer beetles- Malan, Hatwas, Chari, Kawari, Khowala, Harer, Mahakaal and Biara (low to moderate). Nutritional deficiency of Zn and iron were also seen in different areas. 4
6 Other observations: Leaf blast was observed in low proportions in Chahri, Kholi and Kaned areas of block Nagrota Bagwan. Leaf blast severity was found to be comparatively higher (Low to moderate) in some fields of Biara and Mahakaal areas of Panchrukhi and Baijnath blocks, respectively. Maharashtra Reporting AICRP Centre: ARS, Sakoli. Area covered: Bhendala, Tah. Paoni, Jambhali (Sadak), Jambhali (Sadak) & Sakoli, Tah. Sakoli, Tah. Sakoli,Dist. Bhandara: Varieties grown: MTU 1001, Jai Shriram, and Sonali, Talodi Hira (Fine grain rice variety), Pratham, Y-1312, and IR-64 Crop Stage: DAT. Pest Status: No significant incidence of insect pests. Low to moderate incidence of gall midge (4 to10% silver shoots) was noticed at ARS, Sakoli s Farm. At Jambhali (Sadak) & Sakoli; Stem borer - Low to Moderate (4-10 % dead hearts), Gall Midge - Low to Moderate (3-12 % silver shoots), and Leaf folder Low (1-2 % damaged leaves) Other observations: BLB Moderate to severe (Below % incidence). At Jambhali (Sadak) & Sakoli Blast Slight to heavy incidence (4-20 %). 5

Other observations: Drought conditions due to poor rainfall. Tamil Nadu 1. Reporting AICRP Centre: TRRI, Aduthurai Area covered: Thanjavur District, Taluka: Thiruvidaimaruthur, Villages: Melamaruthuvakudi, Keelamaruthuvakudi, Anthamangalam. Varieties grown: ADT 43 & ADT 45 Crop Stage: DAT Pest Status: Moderate damage by whorl maggot %. 2. Reporting AICRP Centre: TNAU, Coimbatore. Area covered: Coimbatore district, Thondamuthur block, Sathya Nagar (13 0 N, 78 0 E) Varieties grown: CO 51, and CO 50 Crop Stage: DAT Pest Status: Low to moderate, 8-10 % leaf damage by case worm in transplanted field. 6
