6 Knowledge Overview on Green Growth A mapping of recent studies/analyses on Green Growth, summary of potentials and barriers, analysis on Nordic regional/local good practice case studies Selected categories: Bioeconomy, Renewable energy, Transport & logistics, Water & Waste water management, Extractive industries, Manufacturing, Tourism & Experience economy Good practice regional & local examples: Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Iceland, Åland, Faroe Islands, Greenland Some findings: The Nordic regions have similarities but the Nordic region is not homogenous in terms of green growth. We need to analyse the industrial and service sectors of green growth not as isolated sectors but by taking into account the interrelatedness and interplay between the sectors.
7 Bioeconomy in-depth study : Major goals and implementation The Bioeconomy in-depth study provides, from a Nordic viewpoint, indepth knowledge and explores Nordic regional good practice case studies on bioeconomy The study examines factors that hinders and promotes the development of Nordic bioeconomy. The study disseminates and discusses results with international, national, regional and local stakeholders in the Nordic countries. The study contributes to public policy development to support innovation and entrepreneurship for green growth at regional level in the Nordic countries.
8 Bioeconomy, blind men and the elephant (adapted from Mintzberg & Jain stories) All of you are right. The reason every one of you is telling it differently is because each one of you touched the different part of the elephant. So, actually the elephant has all the features you mentioned (Jain Stories)
9 Bioeconomy In-depth study: Research methods and implementation The study includes analysis of existing research material interviews, case study analysis of Nordic good practise cases on bioeconomy from the viewpoint of innovation and entrepreneurship visits to Nordic centres of know-how and expertise on bioeconomy workshops and other matchmaking events cooperation with relevant national, Nordic and international actors.
