28 IntelliMarket Ad-Hoc Query Module Navigation Selections default to equals but criteria may be added using an array of selection options like between, not equal to, begins with and more. For a list of items, you may copy and paste from Excel, or import a list of values separated by a comma, with no spaces. For multiple selections, choose in.

31 Referral Methodology Explicit vs. Implicit Explicit referrals are never overwritten by an implicit referral, and self-referrals have been removed Implicit referrals do not go beyond 90 days from upstream practitioner to rendering practitioner Default query behavior is to include both implicit and explicit referrals (like PPI) New fact value called Average Implied Referral Time represents the average number of days for implicit referrals only Implied methodology only includes general practitioners as referring physicians by specialty (i.e. internal medicine docs, family medicine docs, etc.). They are only counted for surgical rendering specialties that would be meaningful to a hospital system. New selection criteria value in the Referring Physician group called Implied Referral Days. This selection variable that allows users to define the referral types they want. Setting implied referral days to 0 = explicit only
32 Referral Methodology Default - Explicit and Implicit Referrals in ICR are defaulted to include both Explicit and Implicit methodology.
33 Referral Methodology Referrals - Explicit To search Explicit referrals only: Add a rule and choose Implied Referral Days Choose Equal as the operator Enter zero in the criteria box (this is telling ICR to query for zero implied referral days)

42 Ad-Hoc Module Tips Start with a narrow selection criteria period (single year-month), then expand as necessary Use high-level groupings to verify claim counts before selecting multiple grouping options in order to understand how fact values are being aggregated and to avoid duplicate counts To speed up queries, use claim count as fact value initially, then expand as required based on results Use indexed, numeric fields when possible (physician NPI, zip codes, procedure and diagnosis codes) Use CSV export option for data analysis using third party applications like Excel (no formatting); use feature in CSV mode for long-running reports Sorts defaulted in descending order by first fact value Grouping by All Diagnosis and All Procedures will duplicate claim counts Use Primary Diagnosis (Dx) and Primary Procedure (Px) GROUPINGS to avoid duplication of claim counts Use All Dx and All Px for SELECTION criteria in order to search across all positions on a claim
