What versions of Linux are supported by the Performance Management on Cloud Linux Agent Package? Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) Server 6 Update 2 (on x86-64 hardware running in native 64 bit exploitation mode) Internationalization and Translation Performance Management on Cloud is translated into which languages? IBM Performance Management on Cloud supports several languages. This product supports these languages, which are listed here: German Spanish Brazilian Portuguese French Italian Japanese Korean Traditional Chinese Simplified Chinese Russian Thai Czech Polish Hungarian Performance Management on Cloud licenses are translated into which languages? Licenses are translated into the following languages: Czech German Greek English
Spanish French Indonesian Italian Japanese Korean Lithuanian Polish Portuguese Russian Slovenian Turkish Chinese Traditional Chinese Installation and Troubleshooting Why are various sections of my Performance Management on Cloud UI being truncated forcing me to use scroll bars to see entire content? This could be due to your system's screen resolution setting. The MINIMUM recommended screen resolution setting for Performance Management on Cloud UI is 1280 x When I launch the Performance Management on Cloud Live Demo, why is the left side of the window blank? This is usually caused by running with an unsupported browser level such as Microsoft Internet Explorer 8. When installing Agents on Windows, I get the following error 'This script [installperformance ManagementaaSAgents.bat] must be run as Administrator'. How do I resolve this issue? Users must have Administrator privileges in order to install Application Performance Management on Cloud agents on a Windows system. If using the Start->All Programs->Accessories->Command Prompt to install agents, be sure to launch the Command Prompt on Windows with Administrator privileges by right clicking on Command Prompt icon and selecting 'Run as
Administrator'. After installing Agents, how can I start seeing data immediately after logging in to my Application Performance Management on Cloud UI? After installing one or more monitoring agents and logging into the Application Performance Management on Cloud UI, you can start seeing data immediately by navigating from the Getting Started page directly to the Application Performance Dashboard. There are several ways to do this: Option 1 - Click on the Application Performance Dashboard icon from the Navigator Bar as shown below Option 2 - Under the View Application Status icon, select Start Now as shown below.
I have no trouble seeing the Service Engage web site and I can request a free trial for a service offering, but I can't seem to access my free trial once it is provisioned. What could be wrong? Some corporate networks block all access to unknown web domains. A White-List of trusted domains is often maintained by the internal IT Operations team. Although 'ibm.com' and other widely used IBM domains are well known and trusted, the free trials are provisioned within a new IBM domain: 'ibmserviceengage.com'. If you are experiencing difficulty reaching your free trial please check with your company's IT organization to ensure the 'ibmserviceengage.com' domain is added to their White-List. I have two free trials provisioned, and I downloaded and installed agents, but I don't see my agents on the console. What's happening? When a free trial or a purchased Performance Management instance is provisioned an agent download file is also generated and uniquely encoded to communicate only with that specific management instance. You must ensure the agent file you download is the one associated with the free trial or purchased instance from which you want to manage. For example: if you request free trial 1 and free trial 2 the agents generated for free trial 1 will only report to the management server running in free trial 1 while the agents generated for free trial 2 will only report to the management server running in free trial 2. If you only install agents from Trial 1 on your managed servers and then sign in to the management server in free trial 2 no agents will be present; they will all be active on the management console for free trial 1. How do I deploy IBM Performance Management Agents on Windows systems?
Our quick and easy steps to install and configure all your Monitoring agents running on Windows platforms are here. How do I deploy IBM Performance Management Agents on Linux systems? Our quick and easy steps to install and configure all your Monitoring agents running on Linux platforms are here. I get an error installing the Response Time Monitoring Agent that 'WinPcap is not installed', what does this mean? WinPcap is an open source tool that is required (version or later) to install this agent on the Windows platform, more detail can be found in the installation guide and you can download it here. Can I receive notification for events? You can set up notification for your events using the Advanced Configuration settings in the Event Manager. Currently, only one recipient is supported. The notification is turned off by default. What sort of user authorization or permission controls are included in IBM Performance Management? IBM Performance Management uses a role-based access control security feature which allows you to assign each user to a role. Each role can then be assigned varying permission levels which grant or deny access within the program as needed. More information about managing user access is found in the IBM Performance Management Knowledge Center Where in the IBM Performance Management interface can I find the user access controls? To modify your users' access controls, from the navigation bar, select System Configuration->Agent Configuration->Role Based Access Control. How can I resolve unmet dependencies for my Performance Management server and supporting components on a Linux System? The Performance Management server uses Red Hat Package Manager (RPM) files to install the software. A Red Hat Enterprise Linux client that is correctly configured to use the yum package manager can resolve and install any missing dependencies that are required by the RPMs. For more information visit the Knowledge Center How can I backup and restore my components? You will need to create and follow a plan for backing up and recovering the data for all components of your Performance Management infrastructure. For disaster recovery plans, consider backing up on one server and restoring to a second server if the servers are at the same fix pack level. If you switch to a different host name on the second server, you must update the agent configurations to point to this new server. For more information visit the Knowledge Center What communication protocol should be used between the Performance Management server and the
agents? The default communication protocol between the Performance Management server and agents is HTTP. Before installing the server, you can use an environment variable to change the protocol to HTTPS for secure communications between the server and monitoring agents. You might notice a degradation in performance when the secure HTTPS protocol is used, depending on how many monitoring agents you are running. To learn more visit the Knowledge Center As an IBM Performance Management Administrator, Cloud Operator, or Business Partner, how can I apply cumulative fixes to my v8.x agents? You can upgrade your Performance Management agents to get the latest updates to the dashboards, new attributes, and thresholds. To learn more about what s changed and to get instructions for upgrading your agents, see the IBM Knowledge Center topic Upgrading monitoring agents Extensions What Value do I get by integrating IBM Performance Management and IBM Netcool OMNIbus?
