1 Cash Drawer Identification Please use this document to identify the model of cash drawer that is on hand. An FAQ section is listed at the end. 15in MMF Metal Cash Drawer Quick Specs: 15 1/8 inches deep as measured from front to back 18 7/8 inches wide as measured from left to right (same as 19in model) 12V DC power supply with 3.5mm plug tip (looks like plug for a headset) Hard-wired data cable with serial DB25 or DB9 connector (all Hot Spares will ship with DB9 connector) Serial Number is located on the inside of the unit (remove pull-out drawer) May be putty/beige or black in color 15 inches deep as measured from front to back Cash Drawer Identification 02/2010, Page 1

15 FAQs Which model do I have? Although the Logic Control cash drawers are not in many offices, these units with the plastic fronts are easily identified because they have the manufacturer s name and serial number clearly marked on the back of the unit. The MMF cash drawers with the metal fronts can cause confusion when the location is trying to determine which model needs to be ordered. The easiest method is to face the cash drawer in question and measure the depth from front to back. IMPORTANT NOTE: All cash drawers are 19 inches when measuring the width from left to right, only the depth as measured from front to back will determine the correct model. Here are some additional tips that can help: 15in Model On the bottom of the cash drawer is a silver MMF Label with Model ECD232 & Re-order No This combination always identifies a 15in model. Please note that very often the reorder number is being mistaken as a serial number. 19in Model On the bottom of the cash drawer is a silver MMF Label with Model ECD232 & part number xxxx xx. This combination always indentifies a 19in model. Please note that a handful of 15in models have a part number of xxxx xx. The size of the cash drawer is noted in the 7th & 8th position of the part number. Advantage Model On the bottom of the cash drawer is a silver MMF Label with ADVANTAGE & part number ADV111B The most distinctive feature of this model is the serial number that starts with ADV- followed by 4 digits, for example ADV How do I hot spare a 15in model without a serial number because I cannot open the unit? If the location has a 15in cash drawer that cannot be opened to gain access to the serial number, please create a standard Hot Spare request and do the following: In the serial number field enter the word Cash Drawer followed by the location, for example Cash Drawer You still must provide the other information required in the DU Notes plus a statement that the unit will not open, no access to serial number. The Depot recommends to hot spare a cash drawer if there is any doubt about its functionality to make sure that a location is operational with one shipment. 16 How do I order a power supply without ordering the whole cash drawer? Please create a case as if a whole unit is needed. You must select the applicable model from the equipment pull-down list in order for the case to generate properly in Clarify. In the User Notes or Phone Notes provide the required information as noted in the D/U Notes plus the statement need only power supply. In the Serial Number field add P/S only to the unit s serial number. IMPORTANT NOTE: In the User Notes specify if the power supply is lost and that the location is aware of being billed or if the power supply is defective. (A defective power supply needs to be returned to the Depot to avoid a bill). How do I order a replacement key without ordering the whole cash drawer? Please create a case as if a whole unit is needed. You must select the applicable model from the equipment pull-down list in order for the case to generate properly in Clarify. In the User Notes or Phone Notes provide the required information as noted in the D/U Notes plus the lock number and statement need only key. In the Serial Number field add Key only to the unit s serial number. The MMF models have the lock number right on the lock itself. The numbering scheme consists of a letter plus 3 digits, for example Y123, or 4 digits without a letter in case of the Advantage model. The LC unit has the lock number on the bottom of the drawer on a white sticker. The numbering scheme consists of four numbers. Unfortunately, due to the age of the units these stickers have often become unreadable. Please note it is assumed that the location is aware that they may be billed for a replacement key.
