3 Certification Introduction: Certified Milestone Solution Partner (MSP) products are proven to fulfill two characteristics that all commercial MSP solutions have in common: the full advertised scope of the integration is present and functional; and with reasonable guidance and training, systems integrators can feasibly install and integrate this solution. These two characteristics are judged according to four main factors: functionality, usability, performance and the integrator s assessment. The rating of Open Options with respect to these four factors is described in this document. Products Tested in this Certification: The following list contains the tested versions of the products and components from both Milestone and Open Options which were included in this MSP certification. Milestone Products XProtect Corporate 5.0a XProtect Enterprise 8.0c XProtect Smart Client 7.0a Open Options Products DNA Fusion DController Open Options Summary: Open Options DNA Fusion is a complete IT-centric security solution that integrates access control software and a hardware system utilizing industry-standard Mercury Board control panels, with seamless display of video from IP video management systems. The DNA Fusion software manages the entire access control system, including door controllers and door hardware, users, cards and access levels. The system can integrate with existing legacy access control infrastructure, or it can be used to build a system with all the hardware on the network. The highly customizable DNA Fusion client is used to configure, maintain and monitor the access control system, including viewing video from integrated video management software (VMS) systems, such as Milestone XProtect systems. DNA Fusion and Milestone XProtect VMS Integration Summary: The integration between DNA Fusion and the Milestone system is accomplished in two main processes, with the end result being full control of live and recorded video from the Milestone system through the DNA Fusion client. 4 1. Authentication the DNA Fusion client authenticates with the Milestone XProtect management or master server, using either Windows users or basic users. Through this authentication, the DNA Fusion client accesses all available video sources connected to the Milestone system. 2. Video Control and Playback DNA Fusion users can view live video and request and replay recorded video from the Milestone XProtect Recording Servers. They are granted control over the cameras and the recordings; for example: DNA Fusion users can control pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) movements and stop or rewind recorded video frame by frame. 5 Certification Criteria Conclusion: All of the features and functionality available through the Milestone XProtect VMS integration to the DNA Fusion system were present and easily documented via the certification process. Usability of the integration was acceptable due to the straightforward nature of the products. The performance impact of the integration was predictable. Integrators who work with Open Options benefit from additional choices in hardware components and VMS integration options. The support services provided by Open Options are the highlight of the MSP certification process. Below are the results from the four certification criteria items. The Open Options solution has passed all four elements and has thereby passed the certification. Functionality: Pass Status: 7 out of 7 items of functionality were demonstrated without error. 1. However, there was hardly any increased memory consumption on the server: 20 megabytes. Integrated systems have little to no impact on the design of either the access control system or the video surveillance system. There are no technical requirements from the video surveillance system components outside of a compatible DVR or VMS. Live support from Open Options provides a great differentiator.
