As outlined in the Statement of Direction for Siebel (Note ), the Siebel Reporting solution going forward will be provided by integrating with the BI Publisher and no Actuate reports shipment in future. Also, through the Siebel / Actuate agreement, Actuate support for Actuate 8 software terminates on December 31st, (*1) It is critical for organizations to start being familiar with the new reporting platform with BI Publisher, evaluate the functionalities, and develop a migration strategy for migrating Actuate reports to BI Publisher reports as quickly as possible. Oracle Consulting can assist organizations for obtaining a solid understanding of the new reporting solution with BI Publisher, being familiar with the functionality and the migration process from Actuate to BI Publisher, by providing Actuate to BI Publisher Migration Accelerator service. It will validate the existing environments and configure properly for the BI Publisher reporting, review the current reporting requirements, perform the migration for a selected number of reports with an organization s IT resources, provide a knowledge transfer base training specifically customized for the migration and each customer s need. And the most importanly, Oracle Consulting will assist organizatoins for developing a solid migration strategy with the reporting requirements analysis and collaborative reports migration work experience. BI Publisher Benefits BI Publisher is Oracle s strategic enterprise reporting platform (used in E-Business Suite, PeopleSoft, JD Edwards Enterprise One, Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition, Business Intelligence Applications, Hyperion Enterprise Performance Management, and others) and provides the following benefits for Siebel customers. Use common desktop tools to create report layouts End users can create their own layouts Easy report layout deployment and administration End user chooses output format (PDF, RTF, Excel and HTML) Remove 3rd party software dependency Better Performance, Scalability, Manageability Reports Migration Challenge BI Publisher provides an Actuate reports conversion tool, which converts the existing Actuate reports to BI Publisher reports. However, it still requires some degree of manual modifications or customizations to complete the original reports requirements. Although BI Publisher provides wide and comprehensive functionalities that cover more than what Actuate currently supports, the way to achieve a same requirement may be different between the two products. Consulting Service Summary Oracle Consulting will work with organizations IT resources to select critical 12 to 15 reports as the reports to migrate from Actuate to BI Publisher and will analyze customer s reporting requirements as of today. Based on the analysis we will develop functionality mapping plans to ensure that all the functionalities will be covered after the migration and be provided in the most optimized way. This will lead to a collaborative migration hands-on exercise, in which Oracle Consulting will work together with the IT resources to perform the reports migration and provide a best practice based training and knowledge sharing specifically customized for Siebel CRM customers and the February 2009 Page 2

3 organization s needs. Oracle Consulting has depth knowledge of BI Publisher technology and a wide variety of experience in delivering BI Publisher based reporting solution implementation projects. Oracle Consulting has developed this Actuate to BI Publisher Migration Accelerator service to assist organizations to develop a solid migration strategy and plan based on best practice. After the Accelerator service experience, the organizations will become enough familiar with both the new reporting technology and the migration process the organizations should be able to deliver the migration project successfully. As of January 1st 2010, Oracle Technical Support will endeavor to support the integration for our customers but will have no ability to create engineering fixes for the Siebel-Actuate Reporting solution. Any issues where the root cause is deemed to be in the Actuate software, Oracle support can only attempt to workaround the issue. After December 31st, 2009, customers will need an Actuate extended maintenance agreement from Actuate to obtain Actuate extended technical support.
