6 LINE-OF-SIGHT SYSTEM LEVEL 1 RADIO Better Profit Operator Health The Line-Of-Sight (LOS) solution allows operators to control machines implement and travel functions from off the machine. It potentially provides a safer working environment when operating in unsafe conditions that could lead to loss of the machine or operator. This practice was accepted by the industry as it improved operator safety and productivity due to greater visibility of the working area. The ControlMaster Line-of-Sight remote control system is widely regarded as a safe and productive solution for short to medium term machine tasks. With a safe operating distance of 10 to 200 metres between the operator and the remote controlled machine, Line-of-Sight remotes offer a practical solution for low to high risk production tasks. Line-of-Sight remotes require the operator to be within a close proximity to the machine due to the operator s viewing limits. When used correctly, the Line-Of-Sight remote is extremely safe; however, it relies heavily on the operator s judgment, skill and experience to be completely safe. Remote Control Options ATX2200 WITH ARX2200 The ATX2200 is RCT s most powerful remote control unit. The ATX2200 can be used in Line-of-Sight to Teleremote and Guidance applications. The ATX2200 can be supplied into all mining regions globally, and can be used on all mining machines - regardless of type, brand, and age. ATX1000 WITH ARX1000 The ATX1000 is built for Line-of-Sight operation only and can be supplied into all mining regions globally, and can be used on all mobile mining and industrial machines - regardless of type, brand, and age. The ATX1000 has all the same rugged design features as the ATX2200. MTX1000 WITH ARX1000 OR (WITH FUTURE MRX) The MTX takes the same proven operating system as the ControlMaster ATX and packages it into our smallest and lightest remote control option - a mere weight of less than 2kg. For all those short-term Line-of-Sight applications the MTX is the solution. The MTX can be supplied into mining and industrial regions globally both surface and underground machines. As more mines adopted the method, it became apparent that productivity actually decreased if operators were exposed to environmental factors for a prolonged period of time. Reaching productivity targets were the driving force behind improving RCT s remote control solutions. The ControlMaster Teleremote solution was then introduced for surface remote control operation. The Teleremote system removes the operator from the harsh environmental elements and potentially hazardous area and places them in a secure location. The communication between machine and operator is achieved by secure radio and video antenna network. There are also a number of control solutions for surface Teleremote control operation. These range from portable trailer cabins to a fully designed control room. The increased functionality was introduced to improve operator performance to boost productivity and allow continuous machine operation. This then triggered the need to develop technology to improve the Teleremote production task. A key area that was fed back into development was the implementation of multiple machine operation from a single operator station, machine to machine collision detection and avoidance and greater distance of control from operator to machine Systems can now be supplied to allow operations to swap between machines when production tasks change, machine barrier systems which prevent machines from operating outside the nominated areas, as well as preventing machines from entering a remote area and machine to machine collision avoidance.
