1 The Gant Boiler Replacement Donnie Lee, General Manager 610 S. West End Aspen, CO MEP Design for Boilers Replacement: SGM was hired to design/specify new high performance boilers for multiple buildings in The Gant a condominium complex with district heating systems. SGM used an energy model based on weather pattern simulation to develop accurate building loads for heating, cooling, and ventilation to size and specify the equipment. The HVAC system specified included boiler replacement (fully condensing and modulating 96% AFUE rated boilers). McDavid Residence Jim Kehoe, CCA Architects 610 E. Hyman Avenue Aspen, CO MEP Design of an Aspen Residence Basement Addition and Remodel: SGM was hired to provide MEP design services for the addition of a basement and full remodel, which includes construction drawings, specifications and Pitkin County s rigorous building and energy code compliance. During construction SGM will monitor the installation, the equipment start up, the testing and balancing, perform the functional testing, control system optimization and document review. SGM will verify for the owner that the systems are installed as designed. Pagosa Lakes Recreation Center Brad Ash, Architect for Reynolds + Associates 262 Pagosa St. Pagosa Springs, CO Recreation Center MEP Design: After conducting a thorough condition assessment and performing retrocommissioning of the HVAC system, SGM was hired to design the mechanical and plumbing system for a new addition and remodel. The Recreation Center has plans to grow further so SGM was tasked with master planning a future mechanical system while designing for the immediate expansion. Design was integrated into the retrocommissioning process to address humidity and comfort issues, as well reduce energy use. 2 SGM was hired to provide overall design project management for all architectural and engineering services. SGM s engineering included civil, structural and MEP engineering, and commissioning services for two new buildings for the City s Electric and Community Broadband departments. The design process involved a challenging site including expansive soils, a very narrow and sloping site; as well as a successful land use approval process. During construction SGM will provide Fundamental Commissioning Services which includes monitor the installation, equipment start up, testing and balancing, perform the functional testing, BAS system optimization and document review. SGM will verify for the owner that the systems are installed as designed. The project is currently underway. Ridgway Fire Station Randle Gardner, Ridgway Fire Protection District PO Box 2 Ridgway, CO blackhawk@ridgwayco.net LEED MEP Design, Construction Administration and LEED Fundamental Commissioning: SGM was hired to provide MEP engineering, LEED Accreditation, and Commissioning services for a new fire station which included construction drawings, specifications, code compliance and all aspects of LEED documentation. During construction SGM will provide Fundamental Commissioning Services which includes monitor the installation, equipment start up, testing and balancing, perform the functional testing, BAS system optimization and document review. SGM will verify for the owner that the systems are installed as designed. The project is currently in the bidding phase and the design phase took approximately 6 months. Glenwood Springs Ford Steve Nilsson, General Manager 55 Storm King Road Year MEP Documents, Construction Administration and Commissioning for Remodel: SGM was hired to provide mechanical design services for the remodel of the dealership which included construction drawings, specifications and COMCheck code compliance. The design met code compliance with 2009 IBC, IMC, IPC, IEC, IEEC, and LEED standards. During construction SGM will monitor the installation, the equipment start up, the testing and balancing, perform the functional testing, BAS system optimization and document review. SGM will verify for the owner that the systems are installed as designed. Bighorn Toyota Steve Zeder, General Manager 55 Storm King Road Mechanical Design for Remodel: SGM was hired to provide mechanical design services for the remodel of the dealership s newly acquired building which included construction drawings, specifications, and COMCheck code compliance. The design met code compliance with 2009 IBC, IMC, IPC, IEC, and IEEC.

Box G-2 Snowmass Village, CO Year Snowmass Club Pools and Spas Heating Renovations: SGM was hired to perform pool SGM is providing us with something previously unavailable: a one stop shop for building energy audits, implementation plans and oversight, and preventative maintenance schedules. It s a great service that has become a key part of our energy and climate work. Auden Schendler Executive Director of Sustainability, ASC Aspen Skiing Company Building Performance Services heating calculations to properly size and upgrade an existing failure prone system. SGM provided specifications for two new heating systems using high efficiency boilers, titanium heat exchangers and DDC controls. The installation resulted in faster heat recovery, ease of maintenance, an almost nonexistent equipment downtime, and energy savings. Highlands 2013 SGM was hired to provide mechanical design services for the remodel of the office space on the second floor of the building which included construction drawings, specifications and COMCheck code compliance. The design met code compliance with 2009 IBC, IMC, IPC, IEC, IEEC, and LEED standards. Salida Hot Springs Pool Theresa Casey, Recreation Manager 410 W. Rainbow Salida, CO Hot Springs Pipeline Assessment to Raise Pool Temperatures: SGM was hired to study the feasibility of re-routing the existing hot springs pipe line to improve the water temperature as delivered to the City pool. Initially the water temp started at 144 F at the spring source and entered the pool at about 97 F. After analyzing route alternatives, pipe material types and pipeline heat loss calculations a preferred routing was determined. SGM provided surveying, hydraulic and heat loss calculations, system design, construction documents, and construction observation for pipeline replacement for two phases of the project. The final temperature entering the pool increased to 117 F. Salida Hot Springs Pool Building Humidity Issues: SGM was hired to evaluate the humidity issues in the building. SGM provided specifications for a new ventilation system. The installation resulted in lower humidity levels and lower pool water evaporation rates. Centennial Park Master Plan Feasibility Study: SGM was hired to provide calculations for the addition of outdoor pools, slides, and snowmelt fed from the Salida Hot Spring as well as participating in a multi-discipline team on a feasibility study for the Centennial Park Master Plan. Phase III of the feasibility process is currently in progress.
4 Salida Hot Springs Pool Building Energy Assessment: SGM was hired to provide an Energy Assessment of The Salida Hot Springs Pool building including lighting, HVAC, and building envelop testing and evaluation. The assessment is currently in progress. FirstBank Aspen Michael Hassig, A4 Architects 242 N. 7th Street Carbondale, Co MEP Design of a Downtown Aspen Commercial Building: SGM was hired to redesign the mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems for a subgrade space in a commercial building for FirstBank Aspen. The project involved limited interior space, limited exterior options for equipment and strong regulatory requirements. Electrical engineering was subcontracted to Bighorn Engineering. Leland Residence Mike Piche, Studio B Architects 501 Rio Grande Pl., Aspen, CO Year: MEP Design of an Aspen Residence: SGM was hired to provide mechanical design services for a high end Aspen residence which included construction drawings, specifications and COMCheck code compliance. Chambers Ave. Eagle, CO Year HVAC Modeling and Specifications for RTU Replacement, Eagle Location: SGM was hired to specify energy efficient HVAC systems for the Eagle Location utilizing models based on weather pattern simulation. Accurate building loads for heating, cooling, and ventilation from the model was used to size and specify the equipment. The HVAC system specified included 2 high efficiency roof top units. SGM specified the mechanical systems to LEED standards.
6 Harry Bentzler, Maintenance Supervisor th Street Rifle, CO Year HVAC Modeling and Specifications for RTU Replacement, Rifle Central Operations: SGM was hired to specify energy efficient HVAC systems for the Central Operations building utilizing an energy model based on weather pattern simulation. Accurate building loads for heating, cooling, and ventilation from the model was used to size and specify the equipment. The HVAC system specified high efficiency roof top units. SGM specified the mechanical systems to LEED standards. The Hotel Denver Steve and April Carver, Owners th Street Year Mechanical and Plumbing Design for the remodel of the third floor: SGM was hired to design the remodel of the third floor from office space to convention rooms. SGM designed mechanical and plumbing systems for the remodel to LEED standards. The fan for the rooftop unit was specified as variable volume with CO 2 sensors to limit its energy use, thus limiting the conditioning of outside air to the space.
