Other thicknesses and heights are supplied if necessary to suit specific project requirements. The number in the Ritek XL Wall Type Code is the overall thickness of the wall, including the 6-mm fibre-cement facing sheets, i.e. a 135XL Ritek wall is 135 mm thick overall. The corresponding concrete thickness would be 135- mm less 12-mm, i.e. 123-mm thick. Minimal panel width is 50-mm and maximum panel height is 5.0m. In accordance with AS , reducing the thickness to 120mm would maintain an FRL of at least 120/120/120 minutes. The Austhane PIR 45 panel used as the insulating lining material on the exterior side of the wall system has been tested by AWTA Product testing in accordance with AS/NZS and achieved the following results. Testing to AS/NZS4284 is required for Weatherproofing and AS/NZS : 1999 or ISO for acoustics. The acceptance of compliance is reliant on the engineering report demonstrating compliance with the PR or verification method. The verification method can be satisfied by a RTA. Installation conditions have been presented within the design and installation manual for compliance against weatherproofing requirements. An acoustic report has been provided by an acoustic engineer establishing the acoustic ratings: An evaluation by Peter Knowland Acoustic Consulting has determined that the airborne sound transmission loss of the Ritek 150mm wall system by verification method DNTsw + Ctr not less than 45. BCA 2015 details a 150mm thick concrete panel achieves a rating not less than Rw + Ctr 50 and Rw 50. As a result, the wall system with a concrete thickness of at least 150mm achieves an FRL of at least 240/240/240 minutes. In accordance with AS , reducing the thickness to 120mm would maintain an FRL of at least 120/120/120 minutes. Provisions Clause J1.5 Energy Efficiency of Walls Thermal Total R-Values are required to be determined by a professional engineer. The BCA requires a Total R-value of at least 2.8 to 3.8 depending on the situation. A thermal report has been provided by an energy efficiency engineer establishing the Total Thermal R-Values. James M Fricker Energy efficiency evaluation dated 25 October 2010 James M Fricker Thermal Performance Ritek XL-T wall system dated May 2011 The following results are provided. 98mm thick concrete with 25mm PUR R1.5 Winter, R1.4 Summer Part Reinforced masonry Part Weatherproofing of Masonry Part Fire Separation details requirements for external walls within 900m of an allotment boundary (or SA 3m from brush fence) to achieve an FRL of at least (60)/60/60 minutes. The construction of the wall is required to have and FRL of not less than 60/60/60 minutes when tested from the outside. 5 Part Sound insulation This part details requirements for separation between Class 1 buildings where an Rw + Ctr of at least 50 is required. Clause external walls details the requirements for the total R-value as provided below. Where the wall separates a bedroom and bathroom the wall is to be of discontinuous construction. Table details construction of a 75mm thick autoclaved aerated concrete panel can achieve an Rw + Ctr not less than 50. An acoustic report has been provided by an acoustic engineer establishing the acoustic ratings: Peter Knowland Acoustic consulting report dated 21 August 2012 with the following results: The airborne sound transmission loss of the Ritek 150mm wall system by verification method DNTsw+Ctr not less than 45. 6 APPENDIX B EVALUATION STATEMENTS B1 Evaluation methods This Certification relies on a combination of Deemed to Satisfy (DtS) and Performance Solutions as defined in the NCC. The evaluation process employed to arrive at this section include: Evaluation of the technical reports as detailed in below in section B2. Audit of the installation process including a construction site visit. Expert judgment by appropriately qualified engineers. Audit of the certificate holders Product Quality Manual in accordance with ISO10005 and the CodeMark scheme rules. Evaluation of the audit process and confirmation of the findings by the Unrestricted Building Certifier whose name and signature appear on page one of the certificate.
