Properties evaluated: Structural Durability Interior finish 2.0 USES Kerakoll Steel-reinforced Grout (SRG) and Fabricreinforced Mortar (FRCM) Composite Systems are composite systems used as alternatives to systems described in the IBC as structural reinforcement to strengthen normal-weight reinforced concrete columns, beams and slabs, and unreinforced clay masonry walls. Both composite systems may also be used as an interior finish. 3.0 DESCRIPTION 3.1 General: Kerakoll Steel-reinforced Grout (SRG) and Fabricreinforced Mortar (FRCM) Composite Systems consist of ultra-high strength galvanized steel micro-cords; basalt; and alkali-resistant glass and aramid fabrics combined with either mineral based or natural lime mortar matrices which, in combination, create the FRCM and SRG composite systems. 3.2 Materials: Fabrics: GeoSteel G600 fabric (G6): GeoSteel G600 Hardwire is a unidirectional sheet made of ultra-high strength galvanized steel micro-cords, fixed to a fibreglass micromesh to facilitate installation. It is utilized with GeoLite matrix for concrete substrates or GeoCalce F Antisistmico matrix for clay masonry substrates. It comes in 12 in. (305 mm) fabric roll widths with a length of 150 feet (45.7m) and has a total nominal areal density of 670 gms and an equivalent design thickness of in. 2 /in. (0.084 mm 2 /mm) GeoSteel G1200 fabric (G12): GeoSteel G1200 Hardwire is a unidirectional sheet made of ultra-high strength galvanized steel micro-cords, fixed to a fibreglass micromesh to facilitate installation. It is utilized with GeoLite matrix for concrete substrates or GeoCalce F Antisistmico matrix for clay masonry substrates. It comes in 12 in. (305 mm) fabric roll widths with a length of 150 feet (15.7m) and has a total nominal areal density of 1200 gms and an equivalent design thickness of in. 2 /in. (0.168 mm 2 /mm) Rinforzo ARV 100 fabric (R1): Rinforzo ARV 100 fabric is an unbalanced bi-directional fabric made of alkali-resistant glass and aramid fibers. It is utilized with GeoCalce F Antisistmico matrix for clay masonry substrates. It comes in 36 in. (914 mm) fabric roll widths with a length of 80 feet (24 m) and has a total nominal areal density of 250 gms an equivalent design thickness of in. 2 /in (0.031 mm 2 /mm) in the primary direction (indicated by the yellow colored strand), and in. 2 /in. (0.049 mm 2 /mm) in the secondary direction GeoSteel Grid 200 fabric (G2): GeoSteel Grid 200 is a balanced bi-directional fabric where the primary fabric direction is parallel to the roll direction made with basalt fibers. It is utilized with GeoCalce F Antisistmico matrix for clay masonry substrates. It comes in 36 in. (914 mm) fabric roll widths with a length of 80 feet (24 m) and has a total nominal areal density of 200 gms and an equivalent design thickness of in. 2 /in. (0.032 mm 2 /mm) Inorganic Matrix: GeoLite (GL): GeoLite is a mineral based cementitious matrix used for concrete substrates. It is utilized with GeoSteel G600 and GeoSteel G1200 fabrics GeoCalce F Antisismico (GC): GeoCalce F Antisismico is an inorganic matrix made from natural lime and mineral components for clay masonry substrates. It comes in 55 lbs bags (25 kg). It is utilized with GeoSteel G600, GeoSteel G1200, Rinforzo ARV 100, and GeoSteel Grid 200 fabrics Mixing Ratio: The water-to-matrix ratio for the inorganic matrices GL and GC, used for the preparation of the product, is 1.4 gallon (5.3 L) of water to 55 lbs (25 kg) of dry matrix for GeoCalce F Antisistmico, and 1.32 gallon (5.0 L) of water to 55 lbs (25 kg) for GeoLite. Mixing must utilize a full bag Composites: GeoCalce F Antisistmico + Rinforzo ARV 100 (GC.R1): In the primary direction indicated by the yellow colored strand, this FRCM system has a composite design ultimate tensile strength of ksi (1,012 MPa), design cracked tensile modulus of 4,440 ksi (30.63 GPa), design elongation of 2.42 percent, and fabric area per unit width is in. 2 /in (0.031 mm 2 /mm). In the secondary direction, the design ultimate tensile strength is ksi (782 MPa), design cracked tensile modulus of 3,330 ksi (22.94 GPa), design elongation of 2.21 percent, and fabric area per unit width is in. 2 /in (0.049 mm 2 /mm). The FRCM system is for clay masonry applications only GeoCalce F Antisistmico + GeoSteel Grid 200 (GC.G2): In the primary direction, this FRCM system has a composite design ultimate tensile strength of 86.2 ksi (594 MPa), design cracked tensile modulus of 6,770 ksi (46.65 GPa), and design elongation of 1.44 percent. In the secondary direction, the design ultimate tensile strength is 78.0 ksi (538 MPa), design cracked tensile modulus of 6,180 ksi (42.61 GPa), and design elongation of 0.72 percent. The balanced bi-directional fabric has an area per unit width of in. 2 /in (0.032 mm 2 /mm). The FRCM system is for clay masonry applications only GeoCalce F Antisistmico + GeoSteel G600 (GC.G6): In the primary direction, this SRG system has a composite design ultimate tensile strength of ksi (726 MPa), design cracked tensile modulus of 8,490 ksi (58.51 GPa), design elongation of 1.00 percent, and fabric area per unit width is in. 2 /in (0.084 mm 2 /mm). This SRG system is for clay masonry applications only GeoCalce F Antisistmico + GeoSteel G1200 (GC.G12): In the primary direction, this SRG system has a composite design ultimate tensile strength of 79.7 ksi (550 MPa), design cracked tensile modulus of 5,410 ksi (37.27 GPa), design elongation of 0.86 percent, and fabric area per unit width is in. 2 /in (0.169 mm 2 /mm). This SRG system is for clay masonry applications only GeoLite + GeoSteel G600 (GL.G6): In the primary direction, this SRG system has a composite design ultimate tensile strength of ksi (1222 MPa), design cracked tensile modulus of 13,480 ksi (92.93 GPa), design elongation of 1.09 percent, and fabric area per unit width is in. 2 /in (0.084 mm 2 /mm). This SRG system is for concrete applications only GeoLite + GeoSteel G1200 (GL.G12): In the primary direction, this SRG system has a composite design ultimate tensile strength of 98.0 ksi (675 MPa), design cracked tensile modulus of ksi ( GPa), design elongation of 0.48 percent, and fabric area per unit width is in. 2 /in (0.169 mm 2 /mm). This SRG system is for concrete applications only Storage Recommendations: Inorganic materials are sensitive to humidity, so GeoLite and GeoCalce must be stored in a dry place and not be subjected to water contamination or exposed to temperatures above between 41 F to 100 F (5 C to 38 C). Fabrics shall also be mainted in a dry place. When properly stored under these conditions and in unopened containers, cemenitous matrices have a two year shelf life and fabrics have a 10 year shelf life. 4.0 DESIGN AND INSTALLATION 4.1 Design: General: Design of the FRCM and SRG composite system must be based on strength design in accordance with Chapter 19 (Concrete) or Chapter 21 (Masonry) of the IBC. The registered design professional is responsible for determining, through analysis, the strengths and demands of the structural elements to be enhanced by the FRCM or SRG composite systems, subject to the approval of the code official Design Strength: Structural design properties for the FRCM composite systems are found in Section 2 of the Karekoll Design Manual (herein referred to as the DM), dated January 1, Design Details: Design equations in the DM are based on test results and principles of structural analysis. Bases of the design include strain compatibility, load equilibrium and limit stress. All designs must follow procedures as detailed in the IBC; in the ICC-ES Acceptance Criteria for Masonry and Concrete Strengthening Using Fabric-reinforced Cementitious Matrix (FRCM) Composite Systems (AC434), dated June 2016; and in the DM Load Combinations: The load combinations used in design must comply with Section 1605 of the IBC. Strength reduction factors must comply with Chapter 19 or Chapter 21 of the IBC, as applicable Factors of Safety: The strength reduction factors, load factors and load combinations must be as prescribed in the IBC, as applicable and the DM Columns: Potential Applications: GL.G6 and GL.G12 composite systems are applied to concrete columns to enhance their axial compressive strength Structural Design Requirements: Concrete column design must comply with the DM and with Chapter 19 of the IBC. Column design must be limited to gravity load resistance only Beams and Slabs: Potential Applications: The GL.G6 and GL.G12 composite systems are applied to concrete beams to enhance their flexural strength; or to concrete slabs to enhance flexural strength Structural Design Requirements: Concrete design must comply with the DM and with Chapter 19 of the IBC. Beam and slab design must be limited to wind or gravity load resistance only Walls: Potential Applications: The GC.G6, GC.G12, GC.R1, GC.G2 composite systems are applied to clay masonry walls to enhance out-of-plane flexural, and inplane shear strengths Structural Design Requirements: Masonry wall design must comply with the DM and with Chapter 21 of

Wall design must be limited to wind or gravity load resistance only Bond Strength: Where bond is critical to system design as determined by the registered design professional, the bond strength of the FRCM or SRG composite system applied to a properly prepared surface must be at least 200 psi (1.38 MPa). Bond testing in accordance with ASTM C1583 can be used to estimate bond strength of bond-critical installations. The test results can exhibit failure in the concrete or clay masonry substrate, as well as at the interface of the FRCM or SRG, and substrate. When failure is at the interface between the structural reinforcement grid and matrix within the FRCM or SRG, strength computed on the net matrix area (i.e., total area under the disk minus the area covered by the fiber mesh) must be at least 400 psi (2.76 MPa). 4.2 Installation: The Kerakoll Composite systems must be installed on structural elements following this report, installation manual as dates shown below, and Chapter 3.0 of the DM. GeoCalce + GeoSteel G600 January 2018 GeoLite + GeoSteel G600 January 2018 GeoCalce + GeoSteel G1200 June 2017 GeoLite+GeoSteel G1200 June 2017 GeoCalce + Rinforzo ARV 100 June 2017 GeoCalce + GeoSteel Grid 200 November Saturation: The FRCM and SRG systems are to be installed by hand using the corresponding inorganic matrix with the dry mesh Application: Kerakoll s FRCM and SRG composite systems are applied to the substrate using manual methods, where surface preparation shall be in accordance with material technical specification sheets and ACI 549.4R Section 7.4 guidelines as applicable. Following surface preparation, the matrix is first applied uniformly to all prepared surfaces with a thickness of 0.12 to 0.16 in. (3 to 4 mm). The selected fabric is then gently pressed into the inorganic matrix with the flat surface of a trowel or similar tool. Successive layers of inorganic matrix and fabric are placed before the complete cure of the previous layer of matrix. Fabric orientation may vary depending on the FRCM/SRG system and the purpose of strengthening; where fibers, strands or cords must not have a misalignment of more than 5 degrees from the intended direction of fiber alignment relative to major axis of the structural element. Pot life of the FRCM/SRG system is approximately six hours at 70 F (21 C), and varies with temperature. Higher temperatures result in a shorter pot life, and lower temperatures result in a longer pot life Finishing: The Kerakoll FRCM and SRG composite systems can be typically painted to satisfy aesthetic and environmental considerations Cure Time Prior to Loading: Kerakoll s FRCM and SRG composite systems must be allowed a minimum of 28 days of cure time (depending on temperatures and humidity conditions) prior to application of superimposed loading onto the structural member. Final determination of required cure time must be made by the registered design professional Flame Spread: When applied to structural elements to satisfy requirements of the applicable code for interior finish, 2-plies of GL.G6, 1-ply of GL.G12, 2-plies of GC.G6, 1-ply of GC.G12, two-plies of GC.R1, and 2-plies of GC.G2 Karekoll composite systems without any additional coating or finishing yields a Class A flame spread and smokedeveloped index in accordance with Section of the IBC. 4.3 Special Inspection: Special inspection during the installation of the FRCM and SRG systems must be in accordance with IBC Sections 1704 through 1709, and Chapter 9 of the DM. 5.0 CONDITIONS OF USE The Kerakoll Composite Systems described in this report comply with, or are suitable alternatives to what is specified in, those codes listed in Section 1.0 of this report, subject to the following conditions: 5.1 Design and installation must be in accordance with this report; the manufacturer s instructions; the Design Manual (DM), dated January 1, 2018; and the IBC. A copy of the DM must be submitted to the code official for each project that is to use the systems. 5.2 Complete construction documents, including plans and calculations verifying compliance with this report, must be submitted to the code official for each project at the time of permit application. The construction documents must be prepared and sealed by a registered design professional where required by the statutes of the jurisdiction in which the project is to be constructed. 5.3 Special inspection for the jobsite application of the FRCM and SRG composite systems must be provided in accordance with Section 4.3 of this report. 5.4 Overlapping FRCM and SRG composites is outside the scope of this report. 5.5 Fire-resistance ratings of concrete and clay masonry assemblies strengthened with FRCM and SRG systems are outside the scope of this report. 5.6 Application of the systems to concrete members at a fabricator s facility must be by an approved fabricator complying with Section of the IBC, or at a jobsite with continuous special inspections in accordance with Section of the IBC and with the DM. 5.7 The herein described FRCM and SRG strenghthening composites systems are manufactured by Kerakoll SPA, Via Dell Artigianato, Sassuolo (MO) Italy under a quality control program with inspections by ICC-ES. 6.0 EVIDENCE SUBMITTED Data in accordance with the ICC-ES Acceptance Criteria for Masonry and Concrete Strengthening Using Fabricreinforced Cementitious Matrix (FRCM) and Steel Reinforced Grout (SRG) Composite Systems (AC434), dated June IDENTIFICATION Component material products of the FRCM and SRG strenghthening composites systems are labeled, in accordance with the approved quality control documentation, with the company name (Kerakoll), address, product name, expiration date, and evaluation report number (ESR-3944).

Applicable code edition: 2016 California Building Code (CBC) 2.0 CONCLUSIONS The Kerakoll Steel-reinforced Grout and Fabric-reinforced Mortar Composite Systems, described in Sections 2.0 through 7.0 of the master evaluation report ESR-3944, comply with CBC Chapters 8, 14, 19, 19A, 21 and 21A, provided the following conditions are satisfied: The design and installation are in accordance with the 2015 International Building Code (2015 IBC) provisions noted in the master report and the additional requirements of CBC Chapters 8, 14, 16, 16A, 17, 17A, 19, 19A, 21 and 21A, as applicable. The systems recognized in this supplement have not been evaluated for compliance with CBC Chapter 7A for use in the exterior design and construction of new buildings located in any Fire Hazard Zone within State Responsibility Area or any Wildland Urban Interface Fire Area. The products recognized in this supplement have not been evaluated for compliance with the International Wildland Urban Interface Code.
