8 North Factory building typical floor layout Concrete water tank RC water tank on the roof 3.35m x 5.5m x 1.2m dp water reservoir located at Roof level. The long S side of the water reservoir is supported along the column line (assumed to be on two columns), but the N side supported on stub columns directly on roof slab. Ponding of water at the base of the stub columns indicated some deflection; however no distress in the slab was noticed from under side (3 rd Floor ceiling) 8 Observations - Concrete water tank on the roof

9 North Factory building typical floor layout Toilet built up Floor build-up in the toilet area measured as 150mm, over approximately 50% floor area (within cubicles). Some isolated areas had build-up of 230mm. Additional loads on cantilever at E end (not shown on drawings) and resultant increased loading on columns providing support to the cantilever Built up toilet 9 Observations Toilet built up

10 10 Observed Cracking

11 Cracks Cracking was noted in a number of beams both vertically and horizontally, and on some façade walls Vertical cracks observed in beams were small and consistent in width down the depth of the beam appeared to be shrinkage cracks Horizontal cracks in beams coincided with EJ; due to lack of EJ detail allowing movement Cracking of façade brick walls also coincident with EJ 11 Observations - cracking

13 RC columns Two columns opened up for testing at Basement level consistent and good readings Confirmed stone aggregate concrete Using Ferroscanner, both rapid scan and detailed scan indicated 6 rebars on long face of internal columns corresponds to rebar details on Structural drawings, and bars projecting from columns at roof level 13 Observations concrete in columns
