Supervising four different projects that include four Ph.D students: o Development of a semi-active cladding connection using 3D printing technology (NSF-funded). o Development of a tuned liquid wall damping system (NSF-funded). o Investigation of probabilistic performance-based methodologies for highperformance control systems (NSF-funded). o Study of high-rate state estimators (AFOSR-funded). Graduate Research Assistant (major advisor: Simon Laflamme) Prototyped and characterized two novel variable friction devices for high performance damping systems for multi-hazards mitigation (NSF-funded). Studied a new class of data-based controller for multi-hazard mitigation using highperformance control systems (NSF-funded). Investigated two damage detection algorithms for structural components equipped with dense sensor networks (Iowa Energy Center-funded). 1
