This also applies for the disregarding of the standards and guidelines listed in these operating and assebly instructions.

6 6 Operating and assebly instructions 2. Design 2.1. Safety provisions 1. For the stability, installation and usage of the scaffolds entioned above, the regulations of EN 1004 "Mobile access and working towers" apply. 2. The scaffolds ay only be assebled and used by people who are failiar with these operating and assebly instructions. 3. For the assebly and disassebly of the scaffold, at least two people are required. 4. Only undaaged and faultless original spare parts of the anufacturer's scaffold syste, which refers to the inspection certificate, ay be used. Before using the unit, inspect all coponents for proper assebly and functionality. 5. According to EN 1004, the axiu platfor s are liited to 8 outdoors and 12 in entirely closed-in spaces. For the scaffolds described in these operating and assebly instructions, the axiu platfor in entirely closedin spaces is The use of lifts on the scaffold is not peritted. 7. The first platfor ay be at a of ax above the ground. The distance between the other platfors ay be at ost 4. The platfors ust be at least 1.70 apart. 8. During the assebly and disassebly of the scaffold, platfors or scaffold planks ust be laid out copletely at a distance of 2 as assebly aids. With the use of scaffold planks, these ust extend 500 beyond the scaffold on each side. It is forbidden to use railings and trusses as a place to stand, also not for assebly and disassebly. 9. The assebly of the scaffold is only peritted perpendicular on a horizontally-level subsurface with sufficient carrying capacity. If necessary, loaddistributing bases ust be used. 10. For inforation about the use of chassis beas, ballast weights, stabilisers and wall spacers to guarantee stability, see these operating and assebly instructions. 11. Work on the working platfor is only peritted with coplete 3-part side protection, that is, railing fraes, knee protection and surrounding toe boards. The interediate platfors do not have to have toe boards. 12. Work on several working platfors siultaneously is not peritted.

7 Operating and assebly instructions For wall-side assebly of the scaffold, wall spacers can also be used for ballasting (accessory, order no ). 14. The perissible load capacity of the scaffold with evenly-distributed load is 2.0 kn/ ² (according to EN scaffolding group 3). 15. All swivel castors ust be fixed by pressing down the brake lever. The brake lever ay only be released for oving. 16. When oving the scaffold, neither people nor aterial or tools ay be on the platfor. Avoid all collisions. Move the scaffold only by hand in the lengthwise or diagonal direction on solid, level and obstacle-free surfaces. When oving, noral walking speed ay not be exceeded. 17. Moving the scaffold with the assistance of vehicles (e.g. fork lifts) is forbidden. The scaffold ay not be lifted or pulled or pushed with the fork lift. 18. The area on which the scaffold is oved ust be able to accoodate its weight. 19. For use outdoors or in open buildings, the scaffold ust be oved into a wind-protected area in case of wind strengths above 6 (according to the Beaufort scale), in case of an oncoing stor and when work is coplete and protected against tipping with other suitable easures (e.g. anchoring). The exceeding of the wind strength 6 (12 /s) can be detected with a palpable drag when walking. 20. With the use of anchors in connection with anchor fitting connections, the inforation in the "Bulletin for the attachent of dowels to anchors of facade scaffolds" (can be ordered fro Carl Heyanns Verlag KG, Luxeburger Straße 449 in Cologneorder no. 42 42 Operating and assebly instructions 3. Note about disassebly of the scaffold Disassebly of the erected scaffold occurs in the reverse order of assebly. Here it ust be noted that the platfors or scaffold planks necessary for the assebly personnel ust be laid out in advance as places to stand and thereby laid out copletely. In no case ay parts of the scaffold (braces, platfors, etc.) be disassebled before the levels above the have been disassebled copletely. 4. Usage rules and regulations 1. Ascent to the working platfor ay only occur fro the inside. 2. It is not peritted to lean against the side protector while working. 3. It is not peritted to jup on the panel coverings. 4. No horizontal loads ay be generated, e.g. due to work on adjacent constructions which could cause the scaffold to tip. 5. While using scaffolds in passageway buildings, on uncovered buildings or building corners, special attention ust be paid to the wind situation in order to prevent the scaffold fro tipping over. 6. It is forbidden to extend the platfor by using ladders, crates or other equipent. 7. Tools and aterials ay only be handed upwards. Here, the weight of the tools and aterials ust always be taken into account in order not to overload the working platfor. The person lifting the load ay only let go when the person accepting the load has it securely in his or her hands. 8. Scaffolds with swivel castors can be oved to their later location after assebly (floor slant ay not be ore than 3%). Avoid all collisions. After oving, the alignent of the scaffold ust be checked again. 9. When oving the scaffold, always pay attention that no live syste coponents are touched. 10. Electrical devices (drills, etc.) ay only be operated on the scaffold with protection low voltage (48 V), with protective isolation (separation transforer) or if they are connected to a residual current operated device with a residual current of 30 A. The regulations of BGI 594 (previously ZH 1/228) ust be applied. 11. Tools and aterials ust be stored on the working platfor so that 20 c on the side of the working platfor reains free as a passageway.

43 Operating and assebly instructions Stability specifications 5.1. General inforation Chassis beas and stabilisers are responsible for the stability of the scaffold. However, these ust also be ballasted according to the area of deployent (indoors / outdoors). For the correct ballasting, please see the parts lists (packet 2.8) Fastening the ballasting The attachent location and the quantity of the ballast weights depend on the type of assebly and platfor of the scaffold. For the precise quantity of the ballasting, please see the parts lists in section 2.8 (lower portion of the tables) Attach ballast weights over the supports on the swivel castors, see Fig. below. For scaffolds for which a larger nuber of ballast weights are required, the supports on the chassis beas can be lengthened with slip-in pipes (accessory, order no ). For scaffold assebly without chassis beas, screw-on ballast weights ust be used (order no ). The ballast weights ust be fastened to the stabilisers (if possible on the base point). Ballast weights : Ballast weights : Extension pipe : Maintenance, repair, storage and cleaning Clean the scaffold with water and coercial cleansers. If paint gets on the scaffold, it can be reoved with turpentine. Cleansers ay not penetrate the soil; used cleansers ust be disposed of in accordance with the applicable environental regulations. Greasing the oving parts Grease all oving parts (spindle, swivel castor bearing, catches) with coercial oil. For use in the winter, use low viscosity oil. Wipe off excess oil, the oil ay not reach the treads - danger of slipping. Dispose of cleaning rags soiled with grease in accordance with the applicable environental regulations. Storage Storage ust be in a anner such that daage to the unit is excluded. The scaffold coponents ust be stored so that they are protected against the effects of weather. During transport to or fro the storage location, the scaffold coponents ust be secured against slipping and buping as well as falling down. When loading, the scaffold coponents ay not be thrown.

44 44 Operating and assebly instructions 5.4. Inspections of the scaffold coponents If a defect is discovered, the affected part ay not be used any longer. Slip-in frae / chassis beas Check for deforation, crushing and crack foration. Braces (diagonal / railings) Check for deforation, crushing, crack foration and function of the catches. Platfor Check for deforation, crushing, crack foration and function of the catches. Check state of the wood. Check pass-through flap for function. Toeboards Check state of the wood. Check toe boards for crack foration. Swivel castors Check rolling capacity of the castor and function of the brake on rolling the basic frae. For swivel castors with spindle, also check that spindle can ove freely. Check fail safe (thub screw, plug) on the chassis beas and the basic frae. Safety springs Check for deforation, crushing, crack foration and tight fit.
