Dave, Stone Hill Contracting In June, 2015, construction was completed at the Atlas Resources Hammon salt water disposal (SWD) facility in Jacksboro, Texas. The Hammond facility is comprised of ten water tanks, two oil tanks, one gun barrel, and three offload stations. Prior to construction the contractor knew the project would face challenges associated with joining HDPE piping and construction schedule constraints. The difficulty in fusing HDPE pipe is very time consuming and must have good weather for fusing weld to mend correctly. New Victaulic HDPE products and prefabrication options offered a controlled cost option and a vastly reduced completion date for the SWD. Victaulic also offered a hard number for the prefabrication, which combined with the new Style 908, Style 907 and Style 905 HDPE couplings the time of completion was reduced by 3-4 weeks, according to Atlas Resources personnel. During the first week of assembly the job site was hit with inches of rain and high winds. However, thanks to Victaulic, construction was able to stay on schedule, finishing the Prefab SWD in 6 days, Offload station, and additional piping in 10 days.
