1 I. Base Bidding Requirements This is not a Base Bid project. II. Work Included The following items are site specific requirements of the project. A. Contractor to repair, replace and install the necessary materials to complete the work identified below. B. STRUCTURAL PANELS PART 1 GENERAL 1.01 SUMMARY A. Provide structural panels as shown on the Drawings, as specified herein and as needed for a complete and proper installation STORAGE AND HANDLING A. Store panels in a protected area and support panels to prevent ground contact. B. Prior to installation, cover and protect panels from moisture and sunlight. Stored panels must remain dry. C. After installation, cover panels to prevent contact with water on eposed panel edges. PART 2 PRODUCTS 2.01 STRUCTURAL STRESS-SKIN PANEL A. Panel Skin Material: 1. Eterior: Water-board/OSB or eterior grade plywood with APA performance rating marked on the panel. Durability rating of Eposure 1. Minimum physical properties shall be tested as described in APA PRP Adhesives: Laminating adhesive with in-use temperature range of -40 to +250 F PERFORMANCE CHARACTERISTICS Page 1 of 5

2 A. Structural Testing: Each panel type shown on the Drawings shall meet or eceed the following performance standards when tested in accordance with ASTM E-72: 1. Comprehensive load (with or without openings); Transverse Load (with and without openings); Concentrated Load; Racking Load; Combined Aial and Bending. 2. Tested values shall meet or eceed those stated in the manufacturer s load design charts ACCESSORIES A. Splines: Splines used for joining panels shall be supplied by the panel manufacturer and shall be of material compatible with the panel skin material. B. Fasteners: All fasteners shall be zinc galvanized screws, nails or staples as supplied by the panel manufacturer. C. Caulk: Caulk shall be compatible with all components of the panel and adjacent materials and approved by the panel manufacturer. D. Construction Adhesive: Adhesive for installing accessories and dimensional lumber shall be approved by the panel manufacturer. E. Foam Sealant: Sealant shall be compatible with all components of the panel and approved by the panel manufacturer. F. Dimensional Lumber: All dimensional lumber shall be structural or better grade 2 framing supplied by the Contractor. PART 3 EXECUTION 3.01 SURFACE CONDITIONS A. Eamine the areas and conditions under which work of this Section will be performed. Correct conditions detrimental to timely and proper completion of the Work. Do not proceed until unsatisfactory conditions are corrected. Page 2 of INSTALLATION A. Install in strict accordance with the manufacturer s instructions and details and with the Drawings. Deviations from standard details and load design values shall be calculated and signed by a qualified engineer.

3 B. Fully protect roof panels from weather. Use roofing materials to provide temporary protection at the end of the day. C. Remove and replace any roof or wall panels that have become ecessively wet or damaged before proceeding with installation of additional panels or other work. C. Submittals and final Deliverable items 1. The Department will provide the awarded contractor a complete breakdown of the required submittals based off of the System identified, I.E. Roofing System 2. Contractor to provide three (3) copies of the entire project documentation in three (3) ring Binders. 3. Binders to include the following items: a. Bid Documents & Specifications b. All project meeting minutes (pre-bid, pre-job, Interim, and Final inspection) c. Correspondence d. Submittals e. L&I approved Engineered Drawings (Paper/CD) f. L&I Building Permits, Inspection Logs, Occupancy Permit, Other correspondence g. Certifications h. Certified Payrolls (Prevailing Wage rates) i. Waste receipts j. Photos Before, during and after 1) A sufficient amount of Photos is required for all phases of construction on all buildings, base on award. 2) Building Final-Eterior all four sides k. Operation and Maintenance manuals l. Contractors Warranty m. Manufactures Warranty III. SUBMITTAL PROCEDURE A. Submit Two (2) copies of all items shown on submittal schedule ecept for "samples". (Original copies required) Page 3 of 5

4 B. Identify project number, project name and location, and contractor's name and address on all submittals. C. Provide space for review stamps of Contractor and Department. Put contractor stamp of approval on each item submitted. D. Revise and resubmit submittals as required, identify all changes made since previous submittal. E. No work shall be performed until all submittals are approved by the Department. Work performed prior to submittal approval is performed at the Contractor's risk and may be subject to repair, replacement or other corrective measures as deemed necessary by the Department with no additional contract time or money. F. Review of shop drawings will be general and for the limited purpose of checking for general conformance with the design; and shall not relieve the Contractor from the responsibility for proper fitting and construction of the work, nor from furnishing materials and work required by the Contract which may not be indicated on the shop drawings when reviewed. G. The submittals required by this contract are subject to reproduction for the Department's internal use only. By signature on this bid proposal, both the Contractor and the equipment manufacturer authorize the Department to reproduce any materials including printed literature and training aids, submitted in fulfillment of this contract. IV. MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS A. When specified in individual specification sections, submit manufacturer's printed instructions for delivery, storage, assembly, installation, start-up, adjusting and finishing, and maintenance, in quantities specified for product data. B. Identify conflicts between manufacturer's instructions and contract documents. V. MANUFACTURER'S CERTIFICATES A. When specified in individual specification sections or on submittal schedule, submit manufacturer's certificates to for review. B. Indicate that material or product conforms to or eceeds specified requirements. Submit supporting reference date, affidavits and certifications as appropriate. Page 4 of 5

5 C. Certificates may be recent or previous test results on material or product, but in all cases must be acceptable to Department. VI. SUBMITTAL SCHEDULE A.
