It is a stable smooth mixture of bitumen modified with polymers, additives and mineral charges of guaranteed compatibility. It meets the technical specifications established by the Directorate-General of Roads and Highways in the base projects for sealing mastics and the specifications of the standard EN for non-fuel resistant sealing products applied hot (N1). 2. INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE The support upon which the Juntoplast C is to be applied should have a clean, adherent surface free of dust and other substances (oils, lime, etc.) which might affect adherence or reduce the product s properties. Then the following steps should be taken: Dry the joint completely through abrasive air blasting (thermic lance) to favour the adherence of the sealant mastic. The product should be heated to a temperature of 180ºC to ensure that it is correctly applied. It should preferably be heated in equipment which prevents local overheating. To ensure adherence of Juntoplast C in sealing joints or cracks in concrete, first the surface should be primed with a bituminous emulsion or asphalt paint. Apply hot using mechanical equipment suitable for this type of work. As a general rule, traffic should not be allowed to pass until at least two hours after the sealant mastic has been applied. Protect by spreading a fine aggregate to prevent adherence to tyres. This covering aggregate should be applied while the mastic is still warm. 6. COVERAGE RATES The coverage rates depend on the characteristics of the crack and/or the width of the joint to be treated but are generally between 5 and 12 mm. The mastic sealant on the paving should be more than 2mm thick, in order to guarantee the formation of a continuous watertight film between the edges of the crack. 7. PRESENTATION 25 Kg. paper sacks. 8. STORAGE AND CONSERVATION The sacks should be kept somewhere where they are protected from both frost and overexposure to the sun. The product should be stored in a dry place. The maximum storage time recommended is unlimited in the original sacks, undamaged and tightly closed.

3 3 / 3 Revision 2 Approved: 26/06/2013 Next Revision: 26/06/ OTHER RECOMMENDATIONS As it is a product applied at high temperatures, it should not be used at temperatures below 10ºC. The product should not be applied on damp paving. The heating time should not be more than 6 hours and the top temperature of 210ºC should not be exceeded. Like other bituminous products, Juntopast C is not suitable for applications where it would be in contact with solvents or fuels. The tools used can be cleaned using any type of solvent.
