Number of participants engaged in forest monitoring programmes at priority sites (> 40% female) Target = 100 Current = 355 (46% female) Output 2.2 Remote sensing data is used to monitor and analyse forest cover change at 350+ Key Biodiversity Areas covering 32 million hectares Number KBAs monitored through remote sensing on annual basis Target = 350 Current = 13 Output 2.3 Forest monitoring results are effectively communicated to local communities, policy makers and enforcement agencies Number of publications, web articles, media releases, public events, and official communications with policy makers/public officials Target = 100 Current = 96
18 Monitoring forest loss in KBAs using satellite data GoogleEarth Engine used to analyse forest loss in 600+ KBAs in the four project countries between 2015 and 2017 Scale runs from green (low loss) through yellow and orange to red (high loss)
19 Field surveys to monitor biodiversity and environmental services Forest condition monitored using specially designed survey forms. Hornbill data is used as a surrogate for understanding the state of the forest (Malaysia). Geo ODK used to manage monitoring results (Indonesia & Philippines).
