Return flights/trips to USA Additional information: Clothing: Spring weather in Germany is highly variable. You can expect rain and cooler weather at any time or alternatively it can be sunny and mid 70 s to 80 s. Come dressed for both. We will be walking a fair amount (1/2 to 1 mile as a time) on trails, old cobble stone city walks and forest roads. Wear comfortable walking shoes and bring a day pack that can accommodate a rain coat. Lots of people use umbrellas, even in the forests. There will be professional laundry services available when we are in where your clothes are washed for you Laundromats are not common. Travel: Car rentals are readily available from most airports. It is cheaper to rent a car in Germany from the United States than in Germany. No special driver s license is needed, though all traffic violations will be registered with the rental company and you will be billed. Most traffic violations (speeding, intersection etc.) are compiled through remote cameras if you see a flash alongside the road they have your picture and you will get a bill. Trains and buses go to most places sometimes ticket information can be confusing as tickets are often dispensed from automatic vending machines. Single country, two country and multiple country travel passes for multiples of days are available. They are much cheaper if you buy them in the U.S. Food: Prices are comparable to the United States with the exception of drinks. There are no free glasses of water and beverages will cost an average of $3.00 with no refills, including coffee. Schnitzel (pork fillet) is a very common menu item and usually comes with local noodle type side and pickled vegetables. Expect to pay between $12 and $20 per full meal unless you go with fast food. Portions are usually good sized and expect to gain weight! Breakfasts on this trip come with every overnight stay. This usually consists of several types of coffee or tea, juice (your choice), bread, butter, jam, cheeses and coldcuts of various types and flavors, sometimes pastries as well. Hotels: Expect normal prices to be close to $100 per person. Hotels charge per person, not room. It is best to book well in advance if you are traveling separate. Availability usually

depends on location and time of year. Travel times to avoid are during summer vacation and major holidays as 83 million people schedule their vacations during school holidays.

It is advised that you conduct extra travel prior to this tour versus afterwards as a major holiday occurs immediately after this trip Shopping: Although regulations for store hours have been relaxed, most stores and shops close punctually at 6:00 PM on weekdays, 12:00 noon on Saturdays and are closed on Sundays. Larger restaurants are open most weekday evenings and Saturdays but may be closed on Sundays. Tour route
